I realise his Liverpool dream has so far fallen through, but the fact that a high end Premiership club were even interested in taking him as part of their future and that he is part of the England set-up for his age group, is promising enough that we could have a real talent on our hands here.

If I'm honest I was one of the few who came away from St Andrews feeling underwhelmed with his performance, but plenty more knowledgeable people in the game have seen real potential in the lad. If we can look after him, keep him grounded and he listens to the advice of those around him then this could be our most exciting 'signing' of the summer.

He will undoubtedly have learnt many things from his Liverpool experience and hopefully be better for it. We now play a style more inkeeping with his passing ability than under AB. I don't want to big up the lad too much and we probably shouldn't raise our early expectations of him too highly, but given a chance to lean his trade I think we could really benefit from him.

I aggree, be good to see him develop under Mr T, he does seem to get the most from the players and for them they seem to respond well and most looked head and shoulders above the standard they seemed under AB.

Still bit down on the fact we have no new strikers, IMO that is the only area i think we are desperate for, the midfielders seemed to play well and with 1/2 long term injuries now coming back, maybe we can get by on the squad we have as long as we add to the front line. Mind you, he may be thinking i can solve the enigma that is our "gypsy boy" freddie. Be interesting to see that talent shine or not!!

It will be like having a new player! I think if he has a good mentor (perhaps Clingan?) he can improve no end, and I'm sure he has bags of potential if Liverpool were interested.

Exactly, you cant expect to much of him at that age. Just as you cant really judge him on the birmingham performance. He will be a good player for us all the scouts cant be wrong. If gunnar does go we will obviously be seeing alot more of him an hes bound to make mistakes. Lets get behind him

I'm looking forward to seeing him play, hopefully he proves to be a quality player for us. What we must not do though, is expect too much too soon.
The last thing he needs is people getting on his back early if he has a couple of poor games. Encourage, encourage, encourage!!

The one thing that stood out for me when I saw him play in the cup was his composure, so I'm also looking forward to seeing more from him
