IMO i dont acctuly think he's that great from what i've seen he's defo a prospect for the future but he shouldn't be a starter not when we have bell and baker fit !

Mayby he could come on for last 30 mins or somthing but not a starter anybody else's opinion

Yes, cos Baker and Bell have really set the world alight haven't they!!

Baker and Bell keep getting dropped because they keep putting in inept performances. If they played like they are capable they would be in the team every week. Thomas and Bigi are getting games because the players in front of them simply haven't been good enough this season.

He's been streets ahead of any of our other midfielders this season IMO.

A really intelligent footballer, doesn't give the ball away, makes tackles and consistently makes the right decision. I rate him very highly.

Yes, hes not the finished article but hes more worthy of a starting place than Bell or Baker!

Streets ahead of Baker Bell Deegan, intelligent player great first touch. Lacks a bit of confidence but he has just turned 18

He probably isn't ready for this level yet but he is still better than Baker and Bell, especially in a central role maybe not out wide.

he's not the finished article and needs to add facets to his game, but he and bigi have been head and shoulders above the senior midfield players this season.

What he's really good at is keeping the ball ticking over, nice intelligent 5 yard passes to feet and then moving into space. When he has got the ball under pressure he doesn't panic and uses his body well to fend off the player and lay of a nice pass. This retaining possession and not giving cheap ball away was beyond deegan, clingan, bell and mcsheffery yesterday.

The other bit of his game that he does so effortlessly is spot danger and cover for players around him. If the right back gets forward thomas will position himself to cover him but also give a pass option. This is the same when a centre back gets forward or if sammy gets forward Thomas will always be covering.

He also works extremely hard, and is quite quick over 5-10 yards when he's pressing. He's physically strong and will make a tackle.

He is a different type of player to Bigi, and imo is the ying to Bigi's falmboyant yang.

What he need's to develop is his forward game and imposing himself more on the game - however he only turned 18 last week, this will come. He is a very tidy footballer.

Thought he has grown into his role over the past few weeks. started out shaky and was drifting in and out of games but hes starting to establish a place for himself in the side. Thought he was average yesturday, but I would put that down to the quality of the opposition, definatly a player for the future and would like us to use him sparingly, but that isn't an option with the inept Bell & Baker the only other options.

I've generally been impressed with him, but yesterday wasn't his best game. He didn't get any time or space first half, and his closing down and, in particular, positioning were non-existent. But he was let down by senior colleagues-he and Deegan together were an utterly ineffective unit, and McPake was having a nightmare just behind him.

Second half, he looked much more comfortable in a 442. He and Sammy interacted and looked like a partnership. He didn't have a great game, but that lobbed ball down the left-hand channel had me crying "That was Plattini-esque!" In other words, he has oodles of potential. He is very young, but he looks like he is going to be a player. Whilst he'll be learning every match, I just hope that we have enough options to take him out of the firing line a bit to avoid burnout-mental, as much as physical.

Our closing down, positioning and movement are pretty redundant for the whole team at the moment.

I think he will be a very good player...... but probably not with us.

Young players will have swings in form much more than senior players but Thomas has impressed me.

Dont know how far off he is, but seeing as he was at the Man U game last night, i'm guessing he's quite a way off!

Indeed. If he was in Manchester I would say he's about 103 miles off.

We need him i think. Jennings was better last noght but not the answer i dont think. Bartons obviously out of favour and Moussa is dropping out of games far too quickly imo!

He is an okay player not great. I think fans have an overinflated view of this chap given the liverpool interest. Bigi was the better player and moved to a suitable club, maybe if Connor moves to a championship club of decent stature then he may come good. He likes time on the ball, sadly this league doesnt give him that luxury.

Just goes to show how the team are pulling together to get us out of this mess when one of your injured players goes to watch man u instead of the team he plays for, goes to show how good the team spirit is.

why would he come? i dont see long term injury players go to every match? they mostly only go to home matches. why would he come and watch shit when he could see the worlds best. what could he do from the sideline?

that's probably why we are where we ate at this moment In time players who play for the club and don't give a shIt would rather go and watch man u instead don't care what anyone says I don't agree

Thomas is not ready yet but I think we all live in the hope that someone might, just might actually play some football and be able to pass a ball to his own player.

I think Conor Thomas will be a big player for us in Midfield when he starts getting a run of games.

What!?!?! your saying it's the players who can't play's fault? are you high? it's the people on the pitches fault not the people off it when their injured.

That's why when he comes back he will just fall into the the same bad habits as the people on the pitch as if you don't give a shit of the pitch you don't give it on the pitch
