Fantastic. Just said on the other board how invested I got in the end. Thoroughly enjoyable and we should be very proud!

Doesn't matter doesn't it?

We won. Let's celebrate that.

Stuff like this needs to be discussed later, but for now it should be heaping on praise for that second half effort and for battling to the end of extra time.

Fabulous

Well I’m just a big advocate for the women’s game.

It’s ok but to me it’s like a GB mens team winning at bowls. Or actually rugby union,

I think it’s the attempt to compare to the men’s game and the refusal to criticise poor games and poor play - makes it all a bit fake to me.

I feel the same way, I find women's football so poor I stopped watching.

I just don't compare it

U21 football isn't the same as senior footballer and women's football isn't the same as men's.

I just treat them all differently and ignore the commentators.

I want to catch a Folkestone Invicta game. I know it won't be same level as a City game.

It's just different.

I get your point, but a boys team thrashed Switzerland before the tournament , same happened to Spain and the US women's teams a few years ago. I've heard some say they showed the men how to win, ignoring the fact it's of a very poor quality and the goalkeeping is comedy gold.

Thought the goalkeeping was much better in this tournament.

To be fair I’m never that bothered about England men winning either and would forget it 5 minutes after it happened

I’ve followed the men’s England team all over the world , but these ladies have more about them than the men. Absolutely amazing. Proud to be English again ( for a while )

I haven't heard anyone sensible comparing it unfavourably to the men's game. Just like nobody in their right mind would belittle the female athletes in the Olympics because they aren't as quick as the men.

The Euros tournament that England have just won was fantastic competitive sport.

Its just the nonsense like

"The women are better than the men cus they can win a final"

Its comparing apples to Oranges.

Annoys me as well to be fair. And also creates a lot of male responses. But let’s not pretend it wasn’t started by blokes essentially belittling women’s football.
Women will bite back. Rightly so.
And that’s where we are now.

Give it a few years and it won’t be compared like tennis or 100 metres.
