Confused over NOPM (1 Viewer)

I am looking to join the Trust at the week end because I believe that the fans should have a voice. The one thing that confuses me is how far and how long will the NOPM campaign go or last?

I understand that the aim is to starve Sisu of funds and to demonstrate the depth of the fan's feelings over how the club is being run, the lack of interest shown towards fans opinions and the move away from our home city.

If (and I appreciate it is a big if) at the end of the three years, Sisu are still the owners and the new ground is built and ready to use, will the fans who will have stuck to NOPM and boycotted 'home games' then return and watch Coventry play in Coventry under Sisu?

If so what will the campaign have achieved apart from starving the manager and the team of much needed support? I appreciate this is hypohtetical, as there is also the question of whether or not the owners would allocate funds raised from fans going to Northampton or wherever for team rebuilding.

Any thoughts, help, advise for a confused supporter who only wants to do what is best for the team.

I am in the Trust and now we are moving away will support the NOPM campaign. When we return to Coventry I will return to watch the City once more.

The plan though Otis is never to play IN Coventry ever again....Sadly I think we'll be dead as a club long before you ever get to make that call.

Thanks for that otis. I heard somewhere that Capital One cup games are different in that profits are split 45% to each club and 10% to the League. Do you know if this is correct? If so away cup games would need to be boycotted also.

The only way I see is to boycott all games, In CCFC's case Home-away/Away games and all cup matches, otherwise what's the point of being part of the campaign if you say ... I will not go to the home games but will attend away games.

But by going to away games only, are you still not starving Sisu of revenue which is the objective of the campaign, whilst still supporting the team?

How do you know that is the plan though Delboy?

Isn't that just an assumption?

Unless you are talking about us being merely yards outside the city limits. I wouldn't call that not returning to Coventry. The Ricoh is barely in Coventry anyway is it.

Fair point but to me outside Coventry isn't in Coventry Otis! I strongly suspect we would never get planning permission for Brandon and I just can't see how that would ever be approved with the road links, infrastructure and the area's NIMBY'S (My Sister is one and she was up in arms and protesting on the streets with many more because of the greyhound racing!) In any event I can't see any new stadium being built anywhere near Coventry because there would be such strong protestations from CCC which has to be taken into account and would at the very least hold this crazy plan up for possibly years and probably force them to look elsewhere. My guess is it will be in South Warwickshire...Timmy's original vision and I for one will never go back and support the club again if that happens. Purely speculation of course but I don't think anything can be ruled out with these 'cowboys'.
