To be clear, the - will he, won't he, when will he - merry go round. Certainly not the role itself, where I will sorely miss our long standing consistency at the helm. He's in now, so I'll get behind him.

I think he'll do alright. 1 season in this league, attracted some decent players, got to play off against a Villa team that really should have been top 2. Looking forward to the Lampard era, hoping for improved performances and general comfort this season now then really kick on next season.

Will be interesting to see if he has the same success in bringing in players of a similar calibre.

Suspect his ability to bring in the likes of Mount, Tomori and Wilson would've been massively helped by having an open cheque book courtesy of Mel Morris.

I hope we are not spunking too much money on the chief, leaving us no money to bring in more Indians
He will only be able to play the cards he’s been dealt with for now, so good luck with that Frank.

Short contract compared to the normal ones King hands out, but i think that fits the structure King wants. Be interesting to hear how Lamps see the club and what after seeing the place and players he thinks we are capable of.

I guess it's good that we've got a manager head coach in but I'm struggling to find any positives. I'll get behind him and the team nonetheless and hope he proves me wrong.

When was the last time we hired someone who’d managed a team to a top 4 finish in the premier league?

Think Chris jones is an underrated appointment, was fitness coach at Chelsea for a long time and will have very high standards

Hopefully no more videos of them pissing around

Probably Big Ron & before that Joe Mercer, all before the top division became the Premier League of course.

2 and a half year contract is perfect in my eyes, if it doesn’t work it’s not a massive payoff but if it works I’m sure we’ll extend next season at some point

He’s here now, hope he smashes it.

Hoping he can get us working going forwards and inspire some of our better players.

No idea about his assistants but hopefully one of them knows how to set a defence up too.

Pissing around vids are ok if you're winning but when you've just lost at home to Sheffield Wednesday or Derby the last thing you want is to see who out of Rudoni and Asante can stuff more oranges in their underwear while MVE falls about laughing.

I'm feeling positive and excited. It may have been purely down to negotiations but I don't think the time taken has been a bad thing. Without being disloyal to Mark because I remain sad he's gone, the last week or so I've found myself thinking more about Lampard, watching interviews with him etc. I think he will be a good fit for Doug, he'll represent the club well, his coaching skills and team should improve performances, maybe we'll get some exciting loans players in come January. Choosing to look forward now, not back so welcome Frank and let's get off to a flyer on Saturday

This took longer than expected. I think the appointment of Edwards and Jones are positive. What are everyone's expectations of a finishing position, come the end of this season? The Championship (imo) is a lot more wide open than previous seasons.

What a stunner after the open process that it turns out to be our Frank

I didn’t think Robins should have gone, but I voted “Yes” for Lampard early on in the poll (none of the other names mentioned floated my boat). It’s hardly what you’d call a safe pair of hands, and I stick by what I posted about three weeks ago - with Lampard it could easily go tits up, but there’s a chance it could take off big time. PUSB.

Unless we rapidly address the defensive record it's going to be a low finish

This could go down as one of the biggest clown moments in the clubs modern history. There's a lot of reasons why this could be the case, and I take no joy in making that statement.

That being said, I hope Lampard does well for us, and is in fact a positive change that was seen as needed to get us back to the PL when we look back on it in the future.

Let's hope it is the case. Best of luck with your CCFC journey, Frank.

Think FL's knowledge of the midfeild in particular could do wonders for this team / future recruitment preferences. Sort the defence out also and with our attacking options think we'll be flying honestly. PUSB#

Top 10 is realistic.

Anything from 18th down is a failure given the supposed credentials of Lampard and the backing he’s got with his coaches

Hopefully we see a higher level of coaching now. No players pissing about and fuck the behind the scenes at Ryton bollocks off.

Do we really need to be seeing head tennis, Dasilva making coffee and Wilson gurning.

“The first game of a new era in Coventry”

Big billing that. Losing 1-0 to a crap Cardiff team probably wouldn’t go down very well…

It’s going to take a while for the players to adapt to the style he wants to play, so I’m not expecting too much straightaway. 2/3 decent loans in Jan and we’ll see where we are. Sheaf, Eccles and Torp will learn so much from him, his appointment may even convince Sheaf to extend his contract…
