To be fair, most fans in Italy are necking expressos before they go onto the terraces, rather than pints... no wonder they are so hyper...! real shame about the ultras situation in Rome at the moment, think Napoli and Atalanta will be the next trips.

Still ridiculous that we can't take a drink to seats. The same guy could be sat in the same seat and drink at wasps but not at city, is he suddenly more likely to act like a tool?

The west stand now is brilliant. No queues for the toilets at all. The bar is empty and sometimes they open the lounge which has an array of beers and lagers to enjoy,

So you are as popular there as you are on here? No wonder the concours is rammed on the other side.

Don't know why they do it at the Ricoh but the reason they do it at a lot of gigs is the bottle tops jam the floor cleaners up.

I used to have a season ticket at Hellas and belive me, a lot of the younger lot drink as much as the English before football.

The espressi they drink before and during the game are called borgetti, it's some sort of 40% drink served in a plastic tube. These are then hurled towards the track surrounding the pitch.

I don't think I ever saw any police inside the stadiums over there; your much more likely to see a fire engine hurtling round the side of the pitch than police

The toilets were loads better before they put the doors on and tried to make them one way

the reason people go in the exit is because it's hard to fight your way down the concourse behind the people queuing for drinks

I read that book about the English season-ticket holder at Hellas, i'm sure you know the one I mean.... the chapters about the away trips to Bari, Lecce and Napoli were decent, but he spent too much time going on about poetry, etc, for my liking.... you must've seen some interesting things at Hellas, they seem to have a big reputation as a group! I think Bologna have a bit of a reputation as well, for a smaller club...

Last time I was in the Curva Nord at Lazio there appeared to be one steward in total - and he was helping people climb the fence..!

I agree, its scary for a 72 year old like me as well. The half time crush is dangerous, queueing across the malls for catering and drink is causing congestion and the toilet situation is a shambles. At least open up the North Stand areas to spread the load. Is the Ricoh design out of date now anyway.

Annoying when you forget a drink for a kid and get them a water but no lid. Then expect it not to get kicked over or spilt.

Nah it's the same as everything else in life, some people just think they are special and don't have to play the game like everyone else. Coming out through the entrance is a cacophony of cuntishness as well

I find it better when people get offended when you don't let them in or you stop your kid from getting crushed by them because they think they can force their way through. It is up there with when people don't understand how giving way works on a road and get angry.

Yesterday there was a young lad who got split up from his dad and people were still pushing and crushing to get into the toilets. I made a point of letting him through to find his dad but people were still trying to push, poor kid was petrified.

I know it is not unique to the Ricoh I am sure it is at most football grounds has to do with FL rules, that is what we were told at an away game this year?

I don't get the bottle top thing. My kids always pack their favourite drink before we leave for the game - bag gets checked every game outside, never once has anyone said anything about the bottle lids... Had 4 bottles this week as I got a meal-deal at Greggs before the game.

Perhaps as mentioned above it's just the catering staff that have the issue with it due to cleaning issues?

Top hint as mentioned in the thread elsewhere just keep a couple of bottle tops spare during the week and take them to the next game, or buy your own at Tesco's before the game and cut out the middle man

I.usually do that. One game I was running late so had to rush to get to the game so forgot

On another note, not much of the food is kid friendly. Would be good if they offered something specific for kids, non fizzy drinks etc. (Other than water)

I usually take food anyway but the amount of kids who want food but can't eat a whole hot dog or something so don't get any.

How do you explain people leaving by the entry door the? Surely far better to use the correct doors than having to fight your way in and out through people going the wrong way?

Just a question. Sadly, I have never been at one of the top attendances. Presumably, the concourses a designed to cope with the number of people in the relevant stand. What would it be like if we ever filled the place?

A guy sat next to me despite having a ticket for somewhere else and he left at the half-hour mark. I assumed he'd gone to where his actual seat was, but as the second half kicked off he came back exasperated that he'd missed four goals due to having a beer. Then he went again a few minutes before Gillingham scored too and didn't come back this time. I don't understand why he turned up.

He did. He usually leaves around the half hour mark in the first half and then returns after about 15 minutes into the second!

Blimey each to their own but there really is no point going there? Might as well go & sit in the casino during the game save his ticket money for beers and wait for his mates or whatever.

Is there anyone on here that leaves before half time to get a beer/food and leaves 5 minutes before the end? It's a 90 minute football match, why would you miss action that you've paid for to get out quick or to get food and drink that you could've had 45minutes earlier and not missed any of the game?

I'd only get up if I'm busting, and I'm pretty well versed at holding it by this point. Give me a few years and my bladder might disagree.

I can never understand why there's people constantly wandering around during games. Its only a couple of hours. Surely you can manage without food & drink for that long or go at half time?
