It was mentioned in last nights Sky's Reading Fanfest that we'd struggled at first when we were promoted from League 2 to League 1 a couple of years ago. Just checked the results and they are starkly similar to this season. Out of the first 9 games in the 18/19 season, we won 3, drew 2 and lost 4 and IIRC the forum was not a positive place to visit. Things improved and we ended that season just dropping out of the playoffs and finishing 8th.

So far this season, 2 wins, 1 draw and 6 losses. Forum going from the team being abject failures and Robins can't pick a team to us being League Champions or promotion candidates in the space of 1 result

On this Hallow'een and remembering our past steps, do we have the ingredients for a sign of positive things to come ?

I remember thinking we needed a win, any win as soon as possible and it came against Plymouth with baka scoring that pen on his debut.

This season I'm delighted to have two wins now. Should have beaten Swansea to be brutally honest. We're doing ok we're just not used to losing and have to remember 2020 social media means Liverpool fans will call for klopp out if they don't beat a team by 3 goals.

Yep, remembered the Barnsley 0-0, strangely thought we'd lost to Swansea. So the results of the first 9 are even closer to 18/19 than I originally thought.

I’ve not been the most positive at all this week before last night but I always believe we’ll improve as the season goes on. It’s basically Robins’ MO and part of adjusting to a higher level every year or so. The problem was we were losing games without a fight.

We lost McNulty don’t forget. Overall it was a decent season, I think it was an accurate and fair comparison to make by the commentator

Where did I say that ? I asked if we use the 18/19 season as a guide to show how we improved over time, could we foresee the same degree of improvements in this season ? Trying to be positive rather than the negative attitude this forum has had over the last 2 months.

Others on this forum have also mentioned about the onesided nature of the coverage last night. Just because I found one comment in a 3 1/2 hr programme interesting enough to investigate doesn't change the interpretation of the whole.
