Looking at this data from same point in all championship seasons obviously we doing well but (and as we all knew at the time) really apparent how under Coleman we were so negative.

Any reason it's just featuring those 4 seasons? In general we're what, about 4 points shy of our highest total in this division (since relegation from the PL i mean) aren't we? It's the most entertaining season in the Championship that I can remember to be honest.

Think 66 is our record championship points total

Just had a look and yeah, looks like 66 and 65 were achieved in seasons where we finished about 11th or 12th. I was a bit surprised by that as i'd assumed our highest finish would have brought the most points.

Our promotion year in 1966/67 was 59. Would have been 82 with 3 points for a win

In the 2001 02 season we were 4th with 65 points from 39 games.

Then the ship well and truly sunk

Shudder. Ranks up there as one of the worst decisions ever made by the club.

It was 1 point from the last 7 but before that the form was OK, having won 6 lost 2 of the previous 8.

It's been discussed here already but the damage inflicted by that fat idiot McGinnity on the club was far greater than anything Richardson did. The club was in a good position to get promoted at the first time of asking and he fucking ruined it with his pig-headed decision making. God knows what they paid Jim Smith.

I thought our goal scoring was our biggest downfall this season and to an extent it is especially when we're on top but there are only 5 teams with more goals than us so its more a combination of lack of goals and poor defending but having said that its a fantastic achievement of 59 points so far

Like you say, 6th for Goals Scored and 16th for Goals Conceded. Tells you where we really need to concentrate our energies in the summer.

And all those goals with a poor return from midfield just think where we would be if we add goals to the midfield but its our defence that really needs an upgrade.. Fadz has done well as has Hyam at times but Rose has looked very iffy maybe its the injuries but an upgrade in at least 2 centre backs should be on the cards now

We’d still be at Highfield Road - McGinnity was a useless greedy oaf who ruined the club
