If you scored against the team you supported, would you celebrate?

100% no question I would.

Edit: Reason being, I love the club but can't stand the majority of our fans.

I think it was pretty classless from him. Was equally classless how our fans were calling him a :jerkit: before he came on and he probably wondered wtf he'd done wrong. I'm sure it wound him up and almost certainly contributed to a) the desire to score and b) his celebration.

I am not sure why fans would call him a wanker?

I going overboard slightly to make a point. But the shit players get and the crying over a bit of stick back is embarrassing.

I didn't think he got much stick at all during the game. A few people booing him when he can on but not close to what I have for some of our own players. I love it when players give it some always seems to fire up the crowd and if one of our players celebrated like that everyone would love it

He's a modern era professional footballer. He plays to the gallery of those who help pay his wages firstly. Secondly, if the SB fans there gave him a hard time he's responded in the manner of many modern era professional footballers...with petulance.

As Sky Blue M has said the 'abuse' he claims to have recieves was very minimum. David Bell has probably taken worse abuse from City fans (and tbf, vocally that has been minimum).

If he cant cope with that witout getting upset then im afraid hes in the wrong job

Get real.

He now plays for Swindon. He got abuse off a few of our fans. Not a wise thing to do. His club are going for promotion. He got his team back in the game after they were 2 down at half time. At least he plays for his shirt. I would have asked the question if he didn't celebrate.

IF ONLY........if I could just bring myself to support another team, the years of disappointment and dejection that I'd miss out on........no, just couldn't do it!!

I went to the game today and I feel embarrassed when our fans sing or chant ridiculous and unintelligent songs. I hear "it could have been you" - no it couldn't, he was released and Villa snapped him up. If they were referring to him signing (or not in this case) in the summer - we were under embargo, he was out of contract, what do people expect him to do? "City reject" caps it all off for me, that makes us look the twat as WE have "rejected" a player that has just single-handedly earned his team a point and IMO changed the game in their favour completely. I genuinely cringe at what I hear in the terraces sometimes. His celebration (though understandable for the stick he was getting) was very silly and could have caused a riot. If you support the club, you surely don't do that? The celebration was minor for me, it was more the chants that make us look thick!

The celebration was idiotic, but was clear he enjoyed it. There was more there than meets the eye. He clearly wanted to scored against us, and that doesn't come from supporting the team or anything like that. It comes from being messed about.

I think some people are annoyed by the over celebration of taking the shirt off and sliding in front of the Cov fans, not just the fact that he celebrated
