You know if I was a third party, who had a shared vested interest with another third party, who wanted to know what two other parties were discussing, then this is probably how I'd go about it...

How far did the protest get? Did it get local, national or global coverage?

I already have. I wrote to Rugby MP Mark Pawsey asking him to support the football governance early day motion and he confirmed he would. He may have been supporting it anyway but I got the confirmation I wanted. I wasn't going to get that by posting it on SBT you have to take direct action on these things.

One thing for certain. If my local MP was a Coventry one I would have bombarded them with emails about helping CCFC. Not least about mediating in the rent negotiations at the Ricoh.

It's all well and good moaning about them asking questions about CCFC to the FL but here's the thing that the angry one's on here have missed. This MP has now got herself involved. Manipulate that to get her involved with all interested parties. She's on the bus now don't let her get of. If you whine about it on a football forum instead of being direct with her you run the risk of letting her of the hook. You'll only have yourself to blame for that. Still as a bonus I suppose you can always get angry about it on a football forum.

I never said you had. I'm merely pointing out that you personally have control of a platform where a number of local voters could be encouraged to ask questions of their Coventry MP's. That would certainly be more productive than anything you've said on this thread, especially the shouting at buses nonsense.

I'm not a spokesperson of the fans, I can't and won't tell them to go and email their MP whether it is to shout at Wasps or SISU. I can try and tell them to give all their money to the Jimmy Hill fund but politically I can't really and wouldn't want to.

People are welcome to put their ideas on a thread through.

It didn't achieve anything if that's what you mean.

I wasn't doing it to get in the paper, I was just doing it to get SISU out.

A protest isn't judged on the coverage it gets, surely it's the results? Is that where we are going wrong?

Is that not what a protest is for, to get peoples plight out to a wider audience? The more coverage it gets the more chance of results wouldnt you think?

Would think the main aim of the protest is to simply change things. The aim wouldn't be to get on the frontpage if being on the frontpage wasn't going to make a jot of difference.

Yes, and people can use the platform to put a thread up if they want whether it is a protest about SISU, Wasps or CCC? My voice is the same as your voice and you have access to create threads etc as well.

If it is something like the Legacy Fund then of course I can nudge it with a PM to everybody to say come on get your cash out, but wouldn't for the politics side whether I agreed with it or not.

It is hardly nonsense to say the FL won't give her the answers she wants is it?

Doesn't mean that they shouldn't be asked though. You want questions asked of Wasps and CCFC too as we all do. Do you think were likely to get them answers to? I'd suggest that they have an equal chance of being answered as those being asked of the FL. Do you see that as an equal waste of time also?

Wasps and CCFC are the 2 parties who can make a deal happen which is why I said to pressure them, the FL are going to shrug their shoulders aren't they? Hammering the FL isn't going to do anything. At least hammering and pressuring Wasps means they are the parties involved, the same as if an MP went to the RFU to demand Wasps give us a rental deal would be pointless.

It was like the academy, by all means hammer SISU and CCFC but hammer Wasps and CSF about it as well. CSF replies "door is open" and it gets left, CCFC replies "we want to talk" and there are FOIs, JCBS out digging and all sorts.

Ideally, everybody who has had any involvement in CCFC / ACL / SISU / CCC etc since 1987 would be dragged into court on the charge of mistreating CCFC where everything they ever did got scrutinised. Never going to happen, much more worthwhile than a JR though.

I could be completely wrong as I often am, and they might reveal everything and will happily eat humble pie.

Your talking nonsense and you know it.
Your attitude is simply "whats the point!". If nothing can be done to save us why are people still trying? You should get your message out to the wider populous and help save everybody's time and effort.

So you couldn't moan if the club moved then surely? That's why I said pressure both Wasps and CCFC.

If it is CCFC stalling the deal them hammer them, if it is Wasps then hammer them.

As it seems, Wasps could say "give us £2m a year rent, no revenue" and CCFC would say no. As it stands now, it would be SISU's fault there was no deal.

I haven't read all of this thread but the initial posts remind me of those for the fans forum thread from last Friday. Some people being very negative about questions being put by an MP to the football league. Again I don't understand why. I am sure that the FL will be very non committal and evasive. So what? It is action being taken, it is something being done and so therefore in my eyes it is good. Who cares if Colleen Fletcher voted for the sale of the Ricoh to Wasps. That decision, bad as it was, won't be reversed and yet it is used as a stick to beat someone with, even though what she is doing now is for the good of the club. Do we say that someone in a position of power and authority can't help our club because of something they have done in the past? Anyone who can help get us out of the mire we are in should be welcome. I am pretty sure the FL do not want adverse publicity and any pressure on them may just strengthen their backbone a bit in their dealings with Sisu. I am sure Seppala will know that these questions are being raised and that the spotlight is being shone on her and her company and she certainly doesn't seem to want the limelight. Even if Fisher and friends are made to squirm a bit with regards to progress on the new stadium and particularly with whether they have the funds to build one, then good. Any action that is legal is surely better than no action at all. Once again it seems that some people are very quick to moan about and belittle those who are actually trying to get things done. In reality, little progress will probably be made by these questions being asked. However, raising the profile of our plight, chipping away at the Sisu edifice on many fronts can only help what everyone seems to want and that is Sisu gone.

It is hardly irrelevant that she voted for Wasps to buy the Ricoh is it? It is not like I am saying about something unrelated like what she voted for with Brexit.

I think the fact that CCFC fans can guess the answers she will get shows how hard hitting it will be, again I could be wrong but just can't see the FL pouring their heart out to her.

If you are staring a campaign to ask questions of Wasps I would support that too just like I am pleased that questions are being asked of the football league. Should Sisu not also be put under pressure to drop all of their legal action against CCC and particularly Wasps, for the good of the football club, so that the major stumbling block to negotiations on a rent deal can resume? No need to ask questions of the FL if that happened. I have no time for Wasps, they are a franchise and should not be here. However I can understand why anyone would refuse to negotiate with another body who is taking them to court.

They didn't though, they negotiated with them knowing about the court stuff...I think the fact people believe everything that Wasps say without digging more says a bit.

If it is CCFC then the digger comes out and quite rightly so, just do the same for them all. Look at that interview with Duggins when asked about the condition of sale, he gave a "no comment" and it got left. If that was Fisher, the FOI team and diggers would be straight out which is all well and good, but do it to them all.

Some of those questions may be answered at least in part. Even if they are not, keeping the pressure on, getting our plight as much publicity as possible can only be to the good. I am not bothered about Colleen Fletcher. What she has done in the past could have been questioned over the past two years. Why wait until now to raise them when she Is now doing something positive to keep the pressure on all concerned? My hope and I am sure your hope too is that we emerge from this mess as soon as possible. Anyone or anything that helps this I will welcome with open arms. I am not bothered about the motivation of the CT, CWR or local MPs so long as what they do helps Coventry City. Better to support all of these actions than to question and moan.

Publicity to who though?

The first aim before any protest should be unite the fans and make everything about their love for CCFC rather than their hatred for anybody else whether it is SISU, Wasps or the council. At least then something would be achieved in it all.

Why shouldn't we be bothered about the motivation of parties in it all? Like I said before, I don't agree with a lot of the Trust stuff and people like LAST and BHSB but their motivation is solely CCFC whether I agree with their methods or not. Of course we should at least question why others get involved in it all, it would be a bit naive not to.

Are they going to shrug their shoulders? I wouldn't know. That's why the questions need asking and who better to do it than an MP? It would be more pressure to answer questions than from a supporters group for instance. Football and it's governance is very much in the spotlight at the moment. I'd imagine that if the FL are advised not to answer MP's questions in some capacity it would be very bad advice in the current climate. We may just learn something from this yet, even if it is that the FL are going to just shrug their shoulders. It's better than assuming that they will, which is a position you seem happier with for some odd reason.

Nothing to stop you or anyone else pursuing him and digging into things that CCC or Wasps have done. And again I would be supportive of that. It doesn't mean that every time someone puts pressure on Sisu you have to shout but what about Wasps or what about CCC. The fact doesn't alter that the main body that hold the future of our club in their hands is Sisu. If they really care about CCFC drop the legal action against Wasps and negotiate. If Wasps refuse than the attention turns to them. I think you need to ask yourself if each action is going to help our club (whether it is against Sisu, CCC or the FL and irrespective of who is carrying it out, MPs, CT or whoever), if it is support it.

It is strange though, nobody is ever saying don't pressure SISU they are just saying pressure them all and there is more chance for results. People actually have seemed against pressuring the other parties. All of the "only SISU can predict the future of our club" stuff isn't right, as we have seen over and over that while other people still have control above then they can interfere.

Thing is, Wasps have blamed the legal action but have they been quizzed about what legal action or does everybody just believe that as it is against SISU? What then, Wasps say CCFC have to do x and y, then the fans will be saying they need to do that as well? Wasps say they need to pay 2m a year with no revenue, I can guarantee fans would be calling to take that deal.

I'd love nothing more than a journo to go all out on them all to get to the bottom of it all and make CCC / SISU / Wasps / ACL / CSF feel pressured.

As mentioned Sisu,or at least Seppala, do not seem to like the attention. On that basis alone I think the publicity is good. The more people who know about what is going on here the better. More questions will be asked, more journalists are likely to look into the goings on. You never know, it may even bring our club to the attention of our future wonderful new owners. In our case any publicity is good publicity. I agree that if a party promoting any action had an evil intent, I would not support it. The CT selling more papers or getting more clicks on the website doesn't bother me if it helps CCFC. The same if Coleen Fletcher gets a few hundred more votes. Maybe there is more to their campaigns. Apart from those mentioned above and a genuine desire to get rid of Sisu I can't see what that would be.

with Ms Fletcher meeting the EFL & with tomorrows EDM,
there is surely, an ideal opportunity for raising the question of 'fit for purpose' ownership of football clubs,
imho, Charlton, Blackpool, Leeds, Portsmouth, Rangers, & CCFC fans would all relish a re-writing of the rules

If Sisu did something in the interests of the club for once and dropped the legal action then the pressure would be back on Wasps to produce a reasonable rent deal. If they started to add more and more conditions or asked for an outrageous rent then rightly you would hope that the media attention would turn on them. Can you see Sisu taking that first step? I can't.
It does seem to me that there is a conspiracy between CCC, Wasps and probably the CT to get rid of Sisu. I just think that after all they have done and the way that they have behaved, no one will deal with them anymore. Few if any fans trust them, and it seems the council, local businesses, and charities feel the same. Unfortunately CCFC are caught in the middle and we are suffering. I am sure when Sisu go other parties will be more likely to help CCFC. If they don't then again attention should be turned on them.
