Getting uppity about a local MP asking questions of the FL about the future of CCFC is odd behaviour for a CCFC fan. You went straight of in a different direction for some odd reason. Surely the FL need to be accountable for CCFC's future in some form and a local MP is someone of authority and well placed to do that. You should be grateful for that regardless of reply and regardless of who else you believe to be accountable. I really don't understand why you wouldn't do anything other than welcome this as a CCFC fan. To much to ask of you though.

Why is it odd behaviour? They should be asking / pressuring CCFC and Wasps to do a deal.

If an MP starts shouting at passing busses SISU OUT should we all be licking their arse as well? Let's not forget she was involved in actually selling the Ricoh and is now acting bothered if CCFC move?

What should I be grateful of for a woman who doesn't give a shit about CCFC asking a few leading questions to the FL that will achieve nothing? People bang on about publicity, what's the publicity for? The telegraph's petition?

"Wisely"? Seriously? I really cannot imagine any Coventry City fan would think that it was "wise" for their club to have no chance of owning the stadium built for them for at least 250 years.

Tell me. Will SISU be here forever? Don't you think CCC could have held their nerve until SISU had gone? Wouldn't that have benefited CCFC? Or, would you have been disappointed to have missed out on the "top class rugby"?

We would still be in Northampton with ACL limping on towards administration.
Administration would be followed by a play for the freehold.
CCC made the right decision for the ratepayer rather than than CCFC supporters.

I've had my protest of SISU Out by eating lunch, I hope I get some likes and some back pats and a few "agree" posts for it. It's achieved the same hasn't it?

Sometimes you need to take off your blinkers and listen to people on why Wasps can't make a deal.
Sometimes you need to concentrate on one area at a time, specifically items you can influence rather than areas you can't.
This board could be a tool to do that but instead its got a few people on it that fight the Sisu corner and a few that try to apply logic. The majority have moved on.

You keep banging on about "this site could be a tool" but you haven't created any threads you keep banging on about?

Why can't Wasps make a deal then? Why could they at the start when they negotiated?

Don't reply with the "maybe they didn't know" line again though. Every man and his dog knows the legal stuff wasn't stopping.

Maybe everyone else is a two faced shit, or maybe you've not understood the situation as well as you could.

Coventry City Council's main objective isn't supporting CCFC no matter how much we wish it was. And I mean legally it's not. Councillors have a strict set of rules to follow and as seen when it's suspected they don't they're in for a world of pain. The Ricoh vote was whipped, going on about how "she didn't care then" shows a stunning lack of understanding of how politics works.

She wants assurances from the FL/FA that we can't move again, she can't do shit but use her position to put pressure on people, but at least she's doing that.

She's my MP and I'm not a fan generally, but I really can't see what issue you could have unless you either don't understand how politics works or you have some irrational hatred of any politician and pull out the old "they're all the same" tosh like a cut rate London cabbie.

You really are odd and angry "if MP's start shouting SISU out at passing buses" WTF are you on?

It's a legitimate line of enquiry from someone of some authority to someone else in some authority. Can't you just be grateful for that as it may actually clarify CCFC's future in some way?

No it doesn't. It means free of debt and creditor claims, ie a house without a mortgage, or a car whose loan has already been paid off.

Are you suggesting sisu wanted the people who run casino out for example? I would suggest paying tenants would have been more than welcomed to stay.

She's my MP too, which as an aside if she's the MP for the Ricoh itself, shows how the consituencies in Coventry are framed rather oddly wrt their geography, as I'm nowhere near the bugger!

Yes but the FL / FA can't give her assurances can they because of the other mess going on. i could understand if it was a Ryton scenario where the club owned the Ricoh and wanted to flatten it for houses to move to Birmingham.

It isn't an issue, she is just shouting and trying to pressure the wrong people, again. It's Wasps / CCFC who can make the decisions about us staying there.

You are right, I am no expert on politics though. Don't hate the woman, don't know her. Just not going to start saying everybody should be grateful to her.

Again, it isn't angry at all.

Just not going to get all grateful about a woman asking questions of the FL when it is quite clear they can't / won't answer them. It is the same as how everybody was acting like Sinclair was a hero.

Why not use her authority to tell Wasps and CCFC to stop being dicks and make a deal then?

You might want to ask your friends at Wasps how the matchday costs now compare to prior to our move to Northampton or even our first season back. Think you will find they have seen a huge increase and changes to terms to make it harder for the club to generate money.

Can you explain why it is perfectly possible, and indeed fairly common, for companies involved in legal action to put it to one side to continue to work together on a day to day basis but it is impossible for Wasps to do this?

You don't have to vote with the whip, and even if you do you can still publicly comment against it.

One question that has never been satisfactorily answered is why the vote was expected to be tight until the councillors met with Wasps in a private meeting with no minutes or record taken at which point it suddenly changed to a unanimous vote.

There seems to be this odd idea held by many that only one side can be questioned. I see no reason why, when questions are being asked, other parties involved can't also be questioned.

The deal had been done a few months before. I revert back to what our chief executive was telling the press almost daily during the Sixfields period, even on the day we returned he said the club still intended to build its own stadium. Pick out the facts at your leisure but that one probably trumps the lot.
SISU a hard nosed US hedge fund out maneuvered by a left wing council in England? Sadly, as unbelievable as it sounds it's true.

I haven't emailed my local MP. He is too busy being in a book I think.

I used to live round the corner from an MP, he would be an absolute dick until it was voting time and he would knock on doors like your best mate.

You are right though, I think I might look into it later.

May I suggest you do or are you assuming that they look on here to gauge what the electorate wants. I've written to my local MP several times over the years on many subjects and always got a reply. Including one from Mark Pawsey confirming that he would be supporting the early day motions on football governance.

It's up to you really Nick. You can either be productive and try and use your local MP (after all, their job is to serve the electorate) or you can come on here chatting shit about MP's shouting stuff at buses.

You are personally in charge of a platform where you could encourage people to be proactive in chasing MP's etc. but you choose to talk bollocks instead.

I'm guessing that you asked them direct questions about the deal then. Good that you've took the time to do it Dave. Maybe a suggestion that they take the same approach that they have towards the FL should be taken with CCFC and Wasps in getting back round the table might get a better reaction? Got to be worth a try. It would also tie in with the questions that they're asking the FL.

I never said you had. I'm merely pointing out that you personally have control of a platform where a number of local voters could be encouraged to ask questions of their Coventry MP's. That would certainly be more productive than anything you've said on this thread, especially the shouting at buses nonsense.
