I've seen them but how do they actually work? How is it difference from just using a french press?

Gaggia would be my first choice every time .
I find coffee to be a bit of a rabbit hole. A few hours of youtubing and googling almost has you convinced to drop £1000+ on an espresso setup
I think if you are not an outright enthusiast there is a limit really to how much you're going to sink into a cup of coffeeIt’s a ratchet isn’t it? Oh I just need a better grinder (£100) oh but this one is apparently next level and only £200 maybe that’s worth it.
I think I’ve decided to focus on the beans and the rest I’ll get whatever isn’t terrible.

Nesspresso Machine!!!!Sure there’s been a thread before but I can’t find it.
Nespresso machine died last month so got myself an AeroPress while I work out a full time solution.
Have now gone down a YouTube rabbit hole about how best to use it and have already scalded my arm fucking up the random suggests. Fun tho.
Coffee isn’t half bad, I think I need to upgrade my shitty electric blade grinder and get some decent beans though.
Anyone got coffee (or equipment) recommendations?
You would think, but as soon as I click on a James Hoffman video spending a small fortune on it seems almost reasonableI think if you are not an outright enthusiast there is a limit really to how much you're going to sink into a cup of coffee
The least Italian coffee possible.I just have a capsule/pod machine and a milk frother and that does for me.
Flat white with oat milk
I couldn't get it right when I had one, always tasted a bit bitter/burnt.The best day to day coffee for the home will always be done in a moka.

a lot of snobbery in coffee, as per sick boy above
it is all about taste
I like a proper coffee, and i also like a good instant
I like a latte and i like an espresso
I am not so keen on filtered as find it a bit bitter
They are all different drinks, and should be treated as so
I do live in Italy, to be fair. Instant coffee is shite though.a lot of snobbery in coffee, as per sick boy above

Chances are the heat was too high and it was left on the stove too long at the end. It's different to espresso coffee, though.Yeah I brought one back from Rome a while ago feeling all Italian and never got a decent cup out of it, must not know what I’m doing.
it is a taste thing as mentioned , I quite like a nescafe gold blend and find it quite refreshing drank without or with just a splash of milk, but it is a very different drinkI do live in Italy, to be fair. Instant coffee is shite though.
Is that the lions mane stuff?Anybody tried the nootropics?

Got one of these, Lovely bit of kit for making me and the Mrs a coffee in the morning.
Took a while to get used to.... key is to read the instructions... I'd been tamping it down when it needed to be left a bit loose.
As for beans I go to TK Maxx they sell massive bags of beans for £10-15 which is decent enough for day to day use. If I'm feeling a bit flash I'll get some from California coffee & wine in Altrincham, The guy roasts it himself every morning a bit pricey though.
When she was pregnant she was off the caffeine so I just had doubles.Like that. The missus doesn’t drink coffee, but I do drink two cups in the morning so works out.
