Andy, I hope that you're reading this (of course you would, why wouldn't you? )

You signed him, you picked him, try playing him. If he isn't fit don't pick him, if he isn't match fit he won't get it sitting on the bench. When you're drawing at home and six points from safety against a side looking well below par who are there for the taking and you have a chance to get that monkey off your back that we've not come from behind for over three years, then have a go.

I'm sure most would rather have seen us lose 2-1 having a go than risk that very thing happening whilst sitting back, throwing a centre back on at full-back and hoping to hold on for a point.

I feel sorry for the cards you've been dealt but if you can't make the best of that hand, then step aside and let someone who can.

Couldn't disagree more! I'd take a point over no points any day. Perhaps AT thought Cody wasn't right for that game.

i feel sorry for him, if we were riding high id understand but were not and hes not getting a chance, to me you have to question why we sold Turner, cuz we didnt need to, Thorn decided to sell Turner to bring in a Striker!!!

Why? Cardiff didn't throw any curved balls so if he wasn't right then he shouldn't have been selected. One point over nil - well of course as its results orientate but we were at home and theree were there for the taking. Our away form is so poor that we simply must push for a winner at home. Not only that but there were a few late opportunities that fortunately Cardiff missed which could have meant we lost regardless of trying to keep it tight.

If I was Cody id be pissed off! THinking he was moving clubs to get first team football, yet the manager wont even bring him on as a sub let alone start him! What other opportunities will the lad get to (hopefully) show the doubters wrong?

I do feel sorry for him though. Personally id like to see him and Platt play together (as as of tomorrow, I probably will get to see it next game, and every game after once Juke leaves)

I think the CET should run the 'Cody gets a hat trick (in training)' article again, and remind AT what he's capable of

Well i can tell you he did with this one, Bens dad and my dad are good mates and i new all about the transfer before it even broke, the sad thing is it was Thorn who said he could be sold so he could bring in a stiker!

I think the point is when your drawing 1-1 bringing on a striker at home as well as Platt and Juke may look as if your trying to win the game??? If you loose fair enough but if you win every ones happy and Cody has had more game time! Thorn is his own worst enemy at the moment!

Im not suggesting he deserves a starting place as I do think our best strike force (as was it last year prior to King finding form under Thorn - even under Boothroyd I preferred Platt as he offered us more than King who just didnt cut it for me under AB) is Jutkiewicz and Platt. Platt definately does not deserve to be sropped at the moment. Juke is our best striker, but does seem to tire after about 70ish minutes, so this is when I wouold introduce Cody.

To say he is the worst striker to play in our colours is crazy. The guy has played 5 games FFS!

Don't think cody should start but last couple of games i think he could of got last 15 or 20mins when games been strecthed and platts been tired after playing well for 70mins

When you are at the bottom of the table and playing a team at the top and in form a point is a good result. Will give the players a little boost. This was after a decent display against West Ham. Hopefully they have learned a little this last international break

He started the previous four games before the West Ham game - Platt has only started the last 2.

So blackburn or Wigan would consider a home draw against Liverpool, tottenham, Chelsea or arsenal 2 dropped points? The are our leagues equivalent fixture to the Cardiff game.

I would say that we would have a better chance of beating a Cardiff side who were fairly off colour than Wigan beating the sides you mention. My point is we need to be brave. More often or not we will struggle away so a point at home isn't much good in our current situation

I know, it isn't looking good. Tbh we had a number of good chances in the first half and could have easily gone in 1 or 2 nil up, but that's the lack of quality especially in the final third.

Think people need to understand he's come from a lower level of football and so will take longer than a few games to get upto the pace of this division but the lad still needs game time, so what harm could it do?
Last year juke was getting slatted as was platt now there the only goal scorers we have, ok platt may not have had as many starts this year as cody but at least he's used to this division.
How can this help the lad if he's stuck on the bench and getting no playing time? what was the point of signing him?
When and if juke goes then what? cody plays starts scoring goals then he will be the dogs nads, give the lad a break not a handful of games and call him shit.
I remember speedie coming here and people were saying what a waste of time look what happened there, I am not saying cody is speedie but ff's give him a chance because we may not have a choice soon.

Conversely people need to stop slating Thorn for not playing him all the time, stating he's a goal scorer, he score tons last season and remember that he scored them in league 2 and that it's a big step up and he needs bedding in gently. If juke goes we will have no choice but to play him.

And for the record, I always thought that juke looked a decent player with his running off the ball, all round play and work rate. He reminded me of a slightly harder working best.

I always thought Juke looked a good prospect from Day One. He was fit, had an appetite for the game and was quick to learn. By contrast McDonald is not fit and lacks any intent or purpose in his play. You would expect maximum effort and commitment but that does not look there to me, very worrying early in his career. His attitude and approach looks poor.

What puzzles me is that given we had very limited funds available and very little time, we go out and buy a player that isnt fit and will take time to bed in or prove himself. Now given that everyone accredits AT with Cody's signing and he was AT's number one target there was no point buying him and paying his wages if he isnt used. Plus he wont get match fit not playing. It doesnt speak highly of what is going on amongst the management team and backroom staff.

Think he could do well but he needs the better service, with the team playing on the front foot and quicker. He has been here long enough to get him fit surely ?

As for not making substitutions then i find it curious we now only seem to make two in a match. Clearly we had run out of attacking steam in last 10 minutes of most games why not change it to try something different. We are not in a position where draws help (other than halting the losses) we need wins. Be brave AT take a risk - we already need two wins just to keep pace!

We arent good enough to push on and be brave! I'm happy with a point gained. So we went hell for leather for three points and lost? You'd be saying why cant we hold on! Get a grip

I don't believe he was AT's first target, it was always Le fondre. The Rotherham chairman made it clear that we wanted him, but reading got there first.

No I wouldn't as I've already stated on this thread more than once. We've already lost lots of points from winning positions and I've not reacted like that once. I would rather be brave and go down fighting. Again at risk of repeating myself, as we sat back we could have easily lost regardless since they missed some glaring opportunities late on.

Incidentally I usually try and post my opinions without advising someone to "get a grip" over theirs, so perhaps you should actually practice what you preach? Just a thought.

Id still like to think he'll come good. He gets in decent goalscoring positions and with a bit of luck could easily had a couple more by now.

He doesnt look the type of player to be involved for 90 mins but hes the type that could nick a goal at any time. Maybe thats a luxury Thorn doesnt think we can afford from the start in our current predicament

Cant argue with Juke & Platt forward line at the moment but would like to see him for the last 15-20 mins when fitness may be less of an issue.

ps for my two penneth there must be more to the freddie situation than meets the eye. whatever anyone thinks the lads got decent ability, one of the best technically at the club so should be at least on the bench

From the games I've seen of Cody (season ticket holder plus went to Portman Road and the New Den) I have seen nothing to suggest he was lazy. I thought he did more running and had a higher work rate than Jutkiewicz most of those times as well.

God help anyone coming to our cliub if we're going to write them off after 5/6 games.

He was finding the positions and now just needs to find his goalscoring touch which he had last season.
