Striker's contract with Coventry City terminated by mutual consent

Striker Cody McDonald’s contract with Coventry City has been terminated by mutual consent.

The 27-year-old had one year left on the deal he signed with City in the summer of 2011.

During his two-season spell with the Sky Blues, McDonald netted eight times in 47 appearances for the club.

Coventry City would like to take the opportunity to wish Cody all the best in his future career.

Fans have already been stopped from singing in all blocks! Come to think of it the atmosphere in the Ricoh won't be much different as it usually is every other Saturday.

What's the betting he ends up at Northampton?
No messy transfer costs etc
Much back-scratching going on maybe?

Gills were after him so I would guess at him ending up there.

He was a decent earner, we bought him from a PL club and Adrian Durham kept banging on about us blowing Peterborough's wage offer for him out of the water.

He'll sign for Gillingham in no time! Bet he couldn't wait to get out of here! And who could blame him?

Oh well Adrian Durham is the greatest football journo of all time, so that's definitely true.

Him and Akinfenwa up front, will be interesting to see how many goals they get between them next season.

Well he is a Peterborough fan and season ticket holder and speaks to the chairman and directors, so he may have a faint idea.

They are a proven partnership, although not at this level. Could easily have been for us in a parallel universe :thinking about:
