So I've had a little look Into Rhys Carr and actually could end up being a great appointment .

His history has basically been developing young players either individually or through routines involving several other players of a similar position .

At Sheffield united they were responsible (the team he was involved in ) developing 8 young international footballers including Ndiaye .

Promising , can hopefully take a few of our players to another level

The only thing il say though , is I have no idea what the standard of our training sessions are like compared to other clubs so I'm just watching these videos smiling and not really knowing if it's good or shit

Wouldn’t have thought so. May have decided to do his usual weekly meeting with Robins in Valencia - why not I guess

I can see George and Rhys taking a lot of the sessions, with the recent advert for head of first team coaching/assistant (whatever the title is) being more of a No2 to work more closely with Robins in relation to tactics and approach to games.

I had the same thought with the other one yesterday. Seemed impressive but then I’ve no frame of reference!

Its great that Doug is so interested to be honest. How many other owners would be at a training session?

Love to see this fast transition training and putting the challenge to the players to exploit and create space .
One of my gripes last season was we were very pedestrian at times , especially when we had the opportunity to counter

This content is fantastic. New modern day ways and training. Proof will be in pudding come Aug 10th.

Loved seeing king in background, robins casually walking over "any danger Doug, couple more pal"

Im impressed with the drills I’ve seen on this videos. It’s a good mix of on ball, off ball and out the box thinking. I like the drill about quick recovery.

If these videos are anything to go by, we’re going to have 11 ferrets on the pitch hounding teams out

A high press 433 with high full backs pinning teams back would be nice .. bit like Liverpool

Watch this video from 2 days ago of Sunderland and compare it to how we look - they look so slow compared to us!

To be fair we could be doing slow intensity stuff later on and not filming it whereas they are showing that.

It's impossible to say.

Yeah, defo. Just knowing how Robins and King want a quick start I think you can see that emphasised in what we see of the sessions

Carr has a good CV in fairness. But let's be honest fans haven't got a clue who the coaching staff is at clubs up and down the country and who is good and who isn't? I bet a lot of fans couldn't name the coaches who were working for England and Southgate at the Euro's?

One reason I like to turn up early on match day. Walk in with no stress of queues at the turnstiles panicking about missing kick off. But I actually like watching the warm up drills and casting my eye over the opposition's passing skills and shooting ability.

Definitely looks like its more intense and i would think its a deliberate switch to a method that will create a change on how we play. I have noticed its all about creating and hitting targets while all done in competition against each other.

Looks like the coaches are demanding a purpose of possession and demand it done quickly with always and end product. . Its training so we will not see the results but some players will have to get fitter to keep the tempo high at all times within games. Deep squad of players knowing what to do is now more important than ever if intensity is core of what we are trying fo do.

12 years I have been running, 6 times a week 2 times a day. The level they are training at from a pure cardiovascular stand point and taking into account the 30 degree heat, they are training at a really high intensity.

The sessions are probably between 1 hour and 90 minutes dependant on the type of training, much of the sessions will be based around high intensity/ short burst running and sprints, with lots and lots of pauses to rehydrate, as the pre season winds down the players will be closer to match day fitness.

The players will be doing longer/ low intensity running to further improve on their conditioning. this is likely to be towards the end of the pre season in order to minimise injury.

Just based on the mini clips they are uploading and factoring in the heat, these lads are being put through it and this clearly makes it increasingly obvious King wants them to be dominating come the start of the season.

Orange Ken would have been all over training sessions in Spain. Fortunately for us the pre season trips back in the day was at a Butlins 80’s revival weekend where the players had to sleep 4 to a chalet.

Tbf, the first lad would move faster if he didn't have a big rubber band around his ankles.
