The problem as everis where's the incentive? Problem is now the 'where's the incentive' switches the other way. If the Ricoh's occupied for three years while a rival ground goes up, it stops them finding a long term future for themselves so... in those circumstances, why would you accept a deal with CCFC unless calling *their* bluff and assuming a ground will never happen?

Trying to be the optimist.....

Perhaps they could take the view that if the club comes back on a short term deal, it gives the opportunity to rebuild relationships and perhaps try things without the "hardball" tactics?

Perhaps they could take the view that if the club comes back on a short term deal, it gives ACL a bit of breathing space to put together a Plan B for the Ricoh ready to swing into action when the club downsizes to its new stadium?

I'm looking for straws to clutch at here........

Fair dues. It could have been clearer if I'm honest.

ACL need to be wound up. The cub could then be handed a long term lease with all revenues. Its the only way.

Its a more attractive proposition than buying a 3rd Division club that owns a ground but is £100m in debt.

Is this opposed to a club which has 60 million of debt with no assets and 1500 paying customers.

Would that involve the charity losing all the money it invested to save us?

They made a poor investment, it happens. And its not to save us, its because its not viable.

Yeah, I suppose the breathing space could be handy. Apply to set up a Rugby League franchise, get that moving so the team's ready to launch when needed, say.

Back to one of the key questions here.

Is ACL viable without the football club in residence?

"the loan, which exceeded the value of the stadium by almost 200%"

-Can anyone explain that one to me 'cos I sure as hell don't get it. Do they really value the stadium amd complexes at only £7 million?

This really is a pathetic statement from sisu when you compare it to the council statement.

Council willing to talk to sisu and sisu saying no chance of a return! Lol

Unlikely and even if they limp along for a while what's the purpose? It employs a handful of people and most crucially the main asset itself is never used.

I would guess that they are about as viable as the Club is in Northampton for the next five years.

CCFC is losing hand over fist at Sixfields, ACL may be too. So we should just sit and wait it out until 1 collapses?!

Evidently. You're not seeing them withholding mortgage payments in an attempt to distress their creditors, or liquidating their business after shuffling assets between pseudo-offshore companies.

I'd give SISU three months to either get their new build stadium on the go or sell up, then after that time with no prospect of returning to the Ricoh, publish a business plan to redevelop the pitch as a RFU or closed exhibition arena. The fact that CCFC could return tomorrow is only delaying sisu's master plan...

I cant see that being the case. I guess next years accounts will tell us, with no football and no major concerts etc...we shall see.

Who will go first Acl or the Club?

I don't think I can just sit here and let that happen. Surely we should use "people power" to unite and force something!

Well at the very least, don't we all have an obligation to turn up July 12th if we can, to show fans of the club do still exist?!?

I am going to play the waiting game. Depending on how this KCIC offer goes (I doubt that 1 will happen), and if the march goes well, we should take the momentum from that.

''Now, more than ever, the new stadium is the only viable commercial option.''

I thought that the JR was just for the good of the citizens of Coventry and nothing to do with the build of a new stadium? Maybe my opinion that this has all been a way of getting the Ricoh on the cheap was somewhere nearer the truth than othrs want me to beleive?

Why are they going to appeal if they are building a new stadium.

I posed the question simply because some seem to assume that the answer is "No".

I think that ACL's viability must be impacted by the loss of the club, but to assume that this means that the business is unviable, seems little more than a guess.

As for the comparison with the viability of CCFC - I think that rather speaks for itself....

They will if Sisu will release the hostage !!
No one will rent or buy the stadium without a club.
That was their plan so now they need to stick or twist with a pair of 2's.
