The position to negotiate might be moot. It appears that ACL/Wasps could cut us loose at the end of the season and we will have no control of it.

Wasps don't fall under the jurisdiction of the FL or the FA, and no-one at CCC cares nor can do anything anyway.

What then........?

No idea to be honest I guess they go back to Northampton or depending on the league Nuneaton Town.

A double "don't worry". Lucas guaranteed that the Wasps move wouldn't have a negative affect on CCFC or CRFC.

Phew, etc.

That'd be nice...

Would also, worryingly, open up the possibility of a permanent move elsewhere. No ground of their own, and the city council says no land available in the city.

Glasgow's nice:thinking about:

understand that NW and the background is important but unless there is a CCFC proper plan to go forward financially, that we can buy in to, then it wont actually matter. Whilst we seem to spend a lot of energy on here over Wasps, CCFC slips further and further towards financial oblivion. Somebody tell me how CCFC gets out of ever dwindling income which impacts on the ability to afford what we have and it seems doesn't meet the commercial levels expected by our landlords, who may choose to cut the deal in 1 or 3 years time. I do not see how it works in the present set up even if we stay in L1 to be honest. Where does the impetus come from to succeed?

All we need to do is make £5 million in merchandise sales, easy!

I would expect them to get rid of us as they will be awash with cash then and can play whenever they want and do things like take out seats to put in standing (not sure if the ground can do this).

But Wasps say they want us there.

They won't cut us out as long as it is a deal that suits Wasps, seeing as we don't have much choice on stadiums Wasps hold all the cards in negotiations. Such a bad situation for us

“It’s been something we’ve been working on since the original purchase of the Arena back in October,” said Armstrong.

So apparently they planned to do this from the beginning, so when the CCC loan was renegotiated to 20 years or what ever it was were they aware then that Wasps planned to pay it off early by loaning more money?

Personally I would follow the club to pretty much anywhere if there was a valid reason behind it.

The thing is though... they're not likely to present it as throwing us out, are they.

No, it would be spun against the club so they were the goodies.

We offered the club this deal but they rejected it*

*The deal was 4 million a year with no revenue, but we wont mention that, ccfc bad bad BOOOOOOO

Can picture the scenario now

Wasps 'We wanted CCFC to stay, CCFC walked away from the Ricoh' (whilst declining to mention that they wanted them to stay on the basis that the rent is jacked up 10x and we no longer get a share of match day revenues)

Then everyone goes crazy and blames Fisher

Which means they can take us for whatever they want. Made worse by the fact that there will be plenty of people that will say it's because SISU won't pay the asking rate - even if that is say.... £1.3m pa with no revenue access.

I guess as it is slightly different than last time but not Northampton for me, everything will point back to Rushden if it's still there but more permanent this time. I would rather look at the old Hinckley United ground.

The option is the club then takes out an add in the Wasps evening telegraph and puts the contract in there for the fans to see.

I know... seems ridiculous when they are building another shopping complex less than 2 miles away from it.

Someone should buy it and convert it to a soccer centre (a la Goals)

Commercial confidentiality, seems to be the accepted excuse when people want to hide facts from the fans.

What's the betting she's watching this with interest and if it works she'll be doing it next?

No my friend that would be the final nail just before the coffin is lowered, we all throw a handfull of soil on it, shed a tear turn our backs and walk away.

Might be...

I can't see, realistically, how or why a club with no ground and no prospect of one would be kept going by ruthless investors, given that scenario anyway.

Must be touch and go as it is!

Listen if it was cast iron she'd go I'd put in a couple of thousand no interest and she can keep the money

Next season should be OK... if for nothing else it's worth hanging on to see how Wasps plays out.

The problem is indeed if Wasps force the issue and stop us from being able to hang on.

Even is Wasps allow us to stay on, nothing will change. It will just be the same crap as now and I can't see how that will ever change.

I know this is a thread about Wasps raising funds. But is anyone concerned about where this one highlighted sentence leaves CCFC?

Not necessarily a question to OSB but could this be a backdrop for a hostile takeover of CCFC? What would SISU's other options be? Build anew? Keep funding losses back at Sixfields while try to work out A) WTF just happened and B) WTF do we do now?

Under these circumstances we would really be homeless so unlike last time when we wasn't I wouldn't have any qualms about going. Just the opposite. I'd see it as my duty.
