Coventry City CEO Paul Clouting has said that he is hopeful that the transfer embargo which the club is currently under will be lifted either by the end of this week or the start of next week.

Speaking at the Fans Forum tonight, Mr Clouting said that the embargo had been put upon the club following a disagreement between City and a club which he refused to name.

He said that part of the embargo had been lifted after agreement had been reached with the club.

The second part of the Embargo concerns the late filing of accounts with Companies House and Mr Clouting said that this had now been filed two Thursdays ago.

Due to this, the Football League had requested interim accounts and Mr Clouting went on to say that information will be supplied to the Football League this week and he was hopeful that the full embargo would be lifted at the end of this week or early next week.

Great news. We need to get all of this sorted ASAP, to enable AT to use as much time as possible looking for new players.
For those of you that don't know, the club that we were in disagreement with was Bolton, in relation to Danny Ward. Or so the reports have been saying anyway.

Rumours I have heard is that we only wanted to pay the wages up until the 15th october when he was injured, but Bolton think we should pay for the whole 3 month loan period.

So why is it Company House web site still lists CCFC Ltd, CCFC Holdings Limited, and Sky Blue Sports & Leisure Limited as overdue?

Interim accounts are due because of the Ward dispute and the fact that HMRC were not paid on time. All clubs have to report to the League if they are late paying HMRC. League need to know two things (a) the debts are now paid and (b) there is a plan in place to ensure it doesnt happen again. In absence of current information since May 2010 interim accounts are only ones they can have. It is in rules that League have rights to see that info, club dont have a choice in it.
