4 points off the playoffs. This annoys me as for how shit we have been if we could of had a few better results is far we would be easily in playoffs.

For example beat rochdale and scunthorpe away? Both lost.

Fleetwood and chesterfield at home? both drew.

Say beat scunthorpe and beat fleetwood then that's 5 points and be on the playoffs in what is a poor poor league. Top 4 are miles away because it is that poor a league.

Just a question of if we can hang on to Tudgay. Just like every other window we will lose our stars to higher placed teams. If Chelsea buy Tudgay fir £10m SP will still have no budget from it. A genius working with peanuts.

2015...
Tudgay has a goal-a-game strike rate
SP has a 100% record
City are 4 points off the play-offs

...it just doesn't get better than this! FACT

Yep Fiddler and Maggot said they were going to buy Madine but don't need to now as we have someone on our books already capable and they trust SP to get the best out of him over the next few months.

At least Tudgay showed he is better than Manset.

To be fair, most other teams have games in hand...

Either you are just venting frustration or you clearly fail to understand how football can be at times.
You win (like today) when you least expect it and lose or draw when you should not.
That my friend is football.

Would be very concerned about being involved in a play-off situation without a designated penalty specialist.

The current league table might encourage our friends at SISU to invest as this is a golden opportunity to get into the playoffs. Gates will increase to 15,000 if we are in with a shout and be over 20,000 the last couple of home games if we are in with a real shout.
Then there is the play off money benefits They may even get there act together and have some merchandising available for sale. This January window will tell us how serious they really are and how much faith they have in SP.

No need to get over-excited, but 12 points from our last 7 games with only 3 goals conceded is a decent run of form. Just need to keep it going.

There's already a thread for the game. This is about our chances of making the play-offs.

Yep.

12 in 7 = 1.714 points per game

Keep that form up

1.714 x 22 = 37.7 (38 points)

29 + 38 points = 67 points won't be good enough for top 6, it's usually 73-74 points.

Whilst Alsop has played much better last few weeks ( think improved defence has helped) I would go for Kirkwood on loan for rest of the season. Get Madine on 18 month contract and an attacking midfielder or play Fleck further forward and replace Flecks more defensive role. Think Nouble will leave, so needs replacing. Tudgay much better today but ????

if we cannot afford to "gamble" on that sort of investment then League 1 for next few years.

So many on here live in a fantasy bubble. In 9 days time ask again of we're 4 points off play offs, be realistic.

We could also be 3 points off relegation.

Past experience is all I go on with CCFC.

Hopefully a win vs Swindon whilst the SISU OUT brigade start should be awesome.

Is that a combination of Kirkland and Westwood ? That would be a good keeper.

Allsopp got better stats than Murphy had last year? Just curious

As for playoffs you know me, always a believer. Not idiotic enough to write them off in November like some on here.

I think it would be difficult to prove, as they don't collect saves per shots ratio, catches, stats, etc. He certainly has more cleansheets at this stage of the season.

And past experience tells us we suffer from inconsistency. We usually play well against teams having a run of good form and fall flat against the lower clubs. It's worrying that we cannot score penalties. Whilst remaining guardedly hopeful, I still expect us to finish nearer the bottom than the top. I cannot see us getting anywhere near the play-offs. We simply don't have enough goals in the team.
