Do you think he's regretting leaving now.personally don't think he'd start for us now anyway but wow its really not looking good for him at the moment is it.
Excluded from the N Ireland squad too.

On a quarter of his wages I'd have him back. Still believe Jennings, barton, kilbane, Thomas make a better CM.

I also reckon he single handedly freed up the wages for Fleck, Jennings and Barton!

Tbh you could add Baker as well.

By the way Clingan can still sign for anyone outside the transfer window!

How much was he on? He only passes sideways anyway.

The simple fact is that reality is starting to bite for these guys...their agents are simply bullish about matters as I gues they are happy to get by on a cut of fees for transferring/signing/etc rather than needing the monthly retainer type payment.
Players will perhaps realise how misguided they have been by greedy agents, as eventually even the premier players will be finding tighter & less lucrative (but still massive!) contracts are the exception not the rule.
THEN we will maybe see healthier clubs with all-round better facilities & cheaper tickets & merchandising...or perhaps (as reality dawns) just big profits for owners & shareholders...& we mugs will still be taken for a ride :-(

Not restricted by the transfer window though, so opportunities may arise if clubs decide they need to make signings.

Same boat as Michael Owen amongst others.

Yes but Michael Owen is an expensive option to keep the treatment table warm when a blanket will do.

no he's not injured but nowhere near match fit he was included in the N,ireland squad for last match just to make up numbers on bench.

He will get a club. Free agents will be snapped in the coming weeks.
Don't understand what many City fans have against him, especially those who hate the diamond and those who didn't rate AT's man management.

Was just terrible when saw him play last season, greedy wanting more wages then deserved and just looked like he didn't care in a season we needed him more than ever.

I'd never have him back! Yes he looked decent, probably in his first season but I can't forgive him for the drab performances he put in last year! His heart was not at this club for at least the final 12 months of his contract and I only wish that Thorn had the opportunity to drop him! Obviously with the constraints last season he couldn't though!

IMO the three midfielders (Barton, Jennings and Fleck) are all much better than he is!

God bless Thorn for having some hand in getting the three lads in is all I can say. Much better than sideways sammy in my opinion. Our midfield looks to be the best it's been for some time now. When was the last time we had a decent midfield?

Something to do with him being made captain and supposed to dictate the tempo of our play, yet never put his body on the line or made a tackle when hes supposed to be a defensive midfielder and never passing forward. Sorry, as far as I'm concerned, he earned far more than the little abuse he got. Also only ever shouted at his players rather than support/help the younger ones...

I dont get the "feel for Sammy " at all , he joined us , hated playing for us , got played well and left at the first opportunity .

See ya and all the best

Jennings is a better player in every aspect of the role

Stephen Hughes with a different haircut. Bloody awful player, has some talent but never used it, sooooo glad he has gone.

We should have known.. in Star Trek, Kingons are always on the losing side.
