McNally should be a top target in the summer, he has been outstanding since he came. But with the record i would not be shocked to see Rose, Dabo and Burroughs extended. And a effort made to sign McNally, Panzo on perms and bring Doyle back on loan.

The 2 wide lads i don't think will be back as Dabo and Burroughs will cover RWB and on the left MR will sign Desilva and have Bidwell fighting for starting spot.

Its a very good unit that if kept can be the foundation to push into that top 6 next season. Sheaf, Hamer and now Eccles are all very good at sitting in front of any 3 at the back. We truly are not far off being a top side in this division.

If people think Hyam was sold cheap for £2.2m I assume we’d pay what - £5m for McNally?

That's what the lad Ballard went for to Sunderland

Panzo is dogshit, the fact we rated him shows how desperate we were for defenders.

I'd quantify that with " if there's no-one next to him organising him positionally".

He's had a few decent games but without an experienced head talking him through games he looks lost.

More likely to be a replacement for Rose than Hyam.

I think Panzo deserves some credit for his performances. Everyone is judging him alongside experienced CBs whereas he came in with less than a handful of first team outings at any level. Doyle had played games in League 1 last year but has stepped up well too with Fadz next to him. Both needed a veteran head next to them to talk them through games and be in a position to cover when they do mess up. As Doyle is now tiring, I'd be more than happy to have Panzo back in the team alongside Fadz and McNally and have Rose on the bench as cover just in case.

And as for getting McNally on a perm, zero chance. He signed a new 4 year contract last season and with Burnley heading back up, they'll be wanting to build a squad for the Prem. Best we can hope for is another year on loan. Besides, while we're playing with 3 at the back, we also need to start looking at a Fadz-level replacement, an experienced and vocal leader for the threesome. Think he's been excellent with us and is probably at his peak now but I can't see him having too many years left on his career, with us or anywhere else.

Mcnally does appear to be some player at this level

The two of them together are the key. McFadzean has been immense but too often flanked by dross - it’s not plausible for a 36 year-old to single-handedly shore up a Championship back line.
