Remember it well, they had Tron in there, which I loved as a kid, the movie too!
Dragon's lair (not everyone's cupo'tea) was down my local video shop on Rotherham road and played it a lot.

Dragons lair was a dreadful game..so overhyped because of the cartoon graphics .. But a terrible game..

Personally my favourites were :- moon cresta,Phoenix ,bomb jack and scramble

Indeed, thats why I said not everyone's cup o' tea, but i loved it at the time and the graphics were superb, the gameplay however was a little wooden looking back.

Remember it vaguely( after googling it) ..I much preferred the original Star Wars games .. With the graphics like tank command...rather than the over-layed graphics of astron belt

I actually remember that, haha, it had a dial controller didn't it? It was in a video rental shop near the old hospital (memory's gone, fuggit), this was in '86 I'm sure. Luckily my old man took ages picking films, so I'd be there blasting his loose change on Gyruss for nearly an hr.

They replaced it in '89 for another similar arcade game, bit like Gradius, but then in '90 they had the Teenage fucking Turtles game in there...oh, I nearly cried, and that game was so shit.

I had kickstart on the C64. Great game.
When I was in my 20s I used to go round a mates and play "Ready to Rumble" on the Dreamcast. We always polished off a couple of bottles of red and loads of spliffs till 5-6 in the morning. I was always Afro Thunder.

Close but no cigar! Think you are thinking of mad planets with the dial.

Ah well, like I said, the ol' memory is prone to failure. I was confusing two separate arcade games, then.

Gonna get the Gyruss ROM for the NES, see what it's like.

Yep-just to jog the old memory-Gyruss was the ship going 360 degrees on the outside of the screen shooting at the middle to blast away your enemy ships!

I tried the ROM and it definitely triggered a few more memories, haha. Not bad for an 8-bit conversion from Arcade, to be honest, I've played a lot of dross on the NES and this is easily a 7/10 conversion. The music is pants, but hey, it was expected.

I meant to mention before, when we were on SNES games, anyone remember Kevin Keegan's Player Manager? Found the ROM for it, and it's as addictive as ever, once you remember what the confusing icons and stuff do.

That was my first games system, haha, I remember Boxer. Also, Maze and Yir Ar Kung Fu, and those tape games were a bugger to load sometimes.

And Starship Command...the box looks familiar, I'm sure I owned it, but the rest is history.

I remember playing at my friend's house but I never owned it.

Got to the end of SSX Tricky. Looking for a very similar game if anyone has any suggestions.
