So the final Grand Tour airs on 13 September

I know Clarkson isn't everyone's cup of tea but the chemistry the 3 of them had was absolutely fantastic. They just worked.

Some of the Top Gear specials were fantastic viewing, and the grand tours aswell

I suppose what I'm asking is will you miss them? I think I will.

Clarkson is fine in small doses for me. His best TV for me was when he did a 'Greatest Britains' show about Brunell a few years back. I do like pretty much anything James May features in. Hammond irritates me.

Sunday was always such a depressing day, and watching Top Gear was about the only good thing when I was a kid. Some of their trips have been amazing to watch, and the one in Vietnam in particular, inspired me to do more or less exactly the same thing.

I haven't watched all their shit religiously, but they are going to be a miss for sure. Wonder what they'll do next, if anything.

Second the above, I didn't get when Clarkson was picked for Millionaire as well but it's turned out to be a good pick.

I like James May. I really liked James May in Our Man in Italy/Japan but I cannot stand Hammond and Clarkson will always be the bully boy oaf who punched a TV runner over a cold food buffet. That said, Clarkson's farm was decent from the bits I watched of it.

Isn't it called Sand Job? Hilarious stuff.

Yes, Clarkson is an oaf, but i think he is entertaining. I think Clarkson's Farm is great - it isn't just a big ego-trip for him. James May would be one of the people i would like to have for dinner (with fava beans and a nice Chianti). His "Our Man in ..." was insightful and hilarious in parts. His desire to take things apart is fascinating (second only to Hannah Fry in that department, and only then because she is utterly beguiling).
Anyway .. cough ... where was i?
Oh yeah, Hammond suffers from Little Man syndrome and tries too hard to be like the others. He just turns out to be annoying. I won't miss him.
GT has been like the Top Gear "Specials", and great for that, but the ordinary Top Gear episodes where they focussed only on testing and chatting about supercars was getting tired, as evidenced by the total flop when anyone else tried to take it on. Matt Le Blanc, anyone??? Sheesh!

I can't decide whether watching those 3 try out different bags of cocaine would be better or worse than Top Gear.

I thought they were pretty entertaining, not really about car reviews but the grand tour was good.

Ive met all 3 of them in person a number of times. Clarkson is a weapons grade bellend, James May is exactly as you'd imagine, affable and knowledgeable, Hammond is a completely different person off camera, really humble and a genuinely nice guy. He also puts the other two to shame in terms of his car and mechanical knowledge.

Bits of the grand tour were entertaining, it got better when they ditched the tent studio and stopped trying to be Top Gear, never quite hit the same highs though. I would say I'd miss it except I'm pretty certain all 3 of them will pop up again in not dissimilar programmes.

Also met all 3. Clarkson is a good bloke but with the attention span of a child. Hammond is a genial sort. May is deeply knowledgeable but with a hint of arrogance.
As a team, they delivered some of the most watchable TV ever.

Was this within work or an event or something?

I think TG works well because it's not a serious car programme. I like cars etc, but I'm not a car nut, so I think that's why the loosely informative side makes it a fun watch rather than a documentary.

The three of them just worked, it was just one of them things where three completely different people happened to click.

All of that. Work, charity and a social event.

I have met 2 of the three. I went to school with his kid, he turned up to the odd event, and was ok, he's a bit of a twat, but likeable and very much like Boris on acting up more for people.

Richard Hammond I have met a couple of times walking in the lakes, which he loves doing, surprising how many people bump into him up there. Nice bloke, very down to earth in my experiences with him although brief.

Met Clarkson a few times when his daughter was at Rugby School. She popped into our shop in the town centre from time to time. Found him nice enough. Was in London during the early hours for work a few years ago and a chap that was absolutely smashed staggered into the road, pulled himself up on our van and put his head through the window. It was Hammond. Met him at an event not so long after. Was a gent and found it funny about how we’d met a few weeks earlier.
