They can't not let someone go who is not on a contract, surely?

Sorry but until I read this officially I can only smell a whiff of bullshit about it.

Most contracts, even the youth ones (not yet a full pro contract) are usually until 30th June so he would not be free to waltz off unless the club agreed, and then there would be a fee involved.

Also who trains on a sunday from the premier league.

I just think we are so desperate for good news at the moment, that I would not put it past a bullsh*t to post something online eg) facebook, to try to depress us further.

Failing that if it is true, we are screwed!

The scumbag is from Leicester anyway let him go. (outrage at player hiding true feelings of outrage at the staff that let him go)

Contracted until June 2013 if the interweb can be trusted so why would this be true. Surely you would take more of a chance on him and he no doubt earns peanuts.

Never trust transfermarket.co.uk! They're about as reliable as that notorious Football Rumours site.

I think it's time to put pen to paper for FR advising them that Jonson Clarke-Harris has just signed a 5 year deal! I was so dissapointed when Sol Cambell didn't join us after he was seen in the coop in Ryton.

If this is correct then I will be both disappointed and disgusted. I have enjoyed watching him score a hatful of goals this season. He is big and quick and I was looking forward to him breaking through into the first team. desperately hope this information is wrong.

If you are disgusted, there is probably no need to be disappointed as well. I know both are slightly ingrained as a Coventry fan, but you are spreading each emotion too thin. Concentrate on one and it shall exceed the sum of the parts.

what CC4L says ....... have seen the lad a few times playing for U18's and although a bit rough rough the edges he really can hit a ball, would have thought he would have been one to keep ..... especially as we lack goals!

I am still yet to see any official announcement on this, nor any links.

Keys is tweeting that he will have news on Harris in 10 days

Let's hope he isn't talking about Keith Harris

Seems true, just not yet officially announced.

Remember that time Coleman told the players well in advance of an official club announcement? Seems like they have told him verbally but not officially released the list of those not being offered a contract.

Twitter and Facebook messages are always letting the cat out of the bag. Can't say I blame him for announcing it. After all, he now owes the club nothing.

Considering how our owners act, I'm sure that this has nothing to do with football and is somehow entirely about money.

if this is true (it would be a real shame), it is time for honest answers,
and not a furtherance of the *****hit the fans have been fed,
was any reasonable contract offered ?
who is in charge of contracts ?
why was this decision made, and the reasons ?

Forfeit a fee now and forfeit one in the future as we got with Sturridge-that makes no sense at all.

Apparently, Thorn's hinted at disciplinary problems as the reason for releasing him.

It's in the telegraph. The headline description of it says Thorn hints at disciplinay reasons and then I read and thought, where! It doesn't say anything, basically!

I find it really strange too. The rumblings on here about him have been positive which you don't get very often.

At least nobody is jumping to conclusions without knowing all of the facts on this one ...

I hate SISU as much as the next man, but I'm certain this has NOTHING TO DO WITH THEM. Some of the comments are simply ridiculous.

If he has been released and there is a valid disciplinary reason then I have no problem with that. Like many of you posting I've not seen him play, so I can't comment on his ability and only what I've read, but we are currently relying on a team of young players. I would imagine they are a fairly tight group and if one is not pulling in the same direction, then it would be the right decision to move them on. Of course I'm not saying that is the case because I don't know either.
