He's been banging the goals in for the academy typical cov release a good prospect he would of been a big help next season.

Which is exactly why it is the right and proper thing to do in releasing him surely.

The last thing we want here is someone upsetting the equilibrium and starting to score goals for us.

If this is correct then I will be both disappointed and disgusted. I have enjoyed watching him score a hatful of goals this season. He is big and quick and I was looking forward to him breaking through into the first team. desperately hope this information is wrong.

Also Otis, why would we hold out for a fee? Might hinder the liquidation prospects.

If this is true it just goes to show what a joke we are.

Massive, massive mistake if its true. Caught glimpses of him playing before and looked an excellent prospect.

Wonder if it is maybe for disciplinary reasons?

Does seem odd as he's been scoring a fair few for the academy.

Utter bullshit, if he was that good, given the number of youth team players playing the first team he would of been there - have faith in thorns scouting ability at least!

There has to be more to the story than just being released?

Only Man City or Man U.

Maybe it's a swap and we're getting Berbatov.

Are we allowed to offer contracts now, then? Are we out of embargo? If not, and he wants to leave for a bigger club, surely we are powerless to stop him going? That might not be the situation and he could be just bigging himself up on facebook, but if he is as good as people say, maybe he jumped rather than being pushed?

I don't think we can offer any contracts until the embargo is lifted.

Tbf though, other than whittingham, how many have the club got wrong in the last 10-15 years?

Thing is, the cupboard is so bare we now can no longer afford to get any wrong. we need all the bodies we can get. Surely worth a one year contract to try and prove himself?

Top scorer in the academy makes you think there is something about him.

And indeed if he has gone straight to a Prem club, that implies he's good. He's our top scorer and highly rated, seems highly unlikely we'd let a player like that go unless we couldn't keep him to me. Especially with this new U-21 side next season.

We don't see them train week in week out though Otis, just because you can bang a few in at youth level doesnt mean your gonna make it. Look at Ben Mackey.

Also Andy Gooding the midfielder who had played for England at every level up to under 20's - he's still playing or Hinckley.

People said we should have kept Quirke that he looked good in his 4 or 5 appearances, who's he playing for now?

This wouldn't have been a decision purely made by AT, Rioch and Carsley would have had massive input into the decision as they will have see how he performed in training an match's. Don't forget that they play Sat mornings so AT would rarely get to see them play live, he'd have been reliant on Rioch and Carsley's input.

I thought it was odd when Billy Daniels was given a squad number recently ahead of JCH. (or did JCH already have one?)

Jonson Clarke-Harris: 18 goals = no contract. Billy Daniels: 10 goals = Contract.
Absolutely beggars belief. He scored a hat-trick against Chelsea FFS!

Quirke is second choice keeper at Coalville Town in the Northern Prem South (same level as Rugby/Bedworth)

Yep, of course and I fully accept that. Maybe something we are not seeing.

By the same token though the club see something in David Bell that none of the fans can see.

Would rather see a young kid who is scoring goals in the academy being given a chance than see David Bell here for another year.

I was thinking this decision would be along the lines of the Quirke decision. And tbf, I think the club have got that one right, considering where he is now (where ever that might be).

If he has been snapped up by a prem team, fair play to him!

Even though he wasn't on pro terms, we may still get a compo payment?

Surely any contracts cant be announced untill Embargo is lifted!

So like they cant say who they are keeping or letting go!

That is probably the main problem, in which case we could be about to lose a lot of talented kids!

Has anyone thought that we offered him a contract and he rejected the deal? Maybe to big for his boots? He definitely doesn't lack confidence after he posted on the ccfc Facebook wall
