With this apparent loan deal for Leon Clarke, if McGoldrick remains, could they play together ? From what i see we need a partner for McG not a replacement, MacDonald is a waste of time and ROD well, is ROD.
Could make us a real force in this division if these two became our strike force.

We do need a partner for DMC. Do think Clarke is the replacement though.

Although I imagine DMC will leave, something in my heart tells me there might be a glimmer of a chance of him staying. Robins seems full of surprises when signing players and maybe Clarke is a show of intent rather than just a replacement. Whatever happens lets just hope for a good run over xmas. Merry Xmas to you all.....let all your xmas's be sky blue.

It's the money thing that convinces me. We know we have no money. Only way to bring players in is to let others go. Not sure the ones we want to get rid of anyone else wants.

I wish he was but logic tells me not.
MR was told you can only sign people to replace others. No new signings.

I'm not so sure, look at it from this point. Playing well and more importantly playing regularly. Will still be getting same pay as on his contract some from us the rest off Forest. Chance of a Wembley appearance, might not seem a big deal JPT but Wembley is Wembley and what a shop window that is and can negotiate a new deal with us or whoever in the summer. There is potentially a lot more money in his pocket if he stays until the the end of the season. He is not guaranteed a first team spot anywhere else IMO

he is clearly a replacement for dmc, we need a miracle for him to stay but having said that I never expected it.

Well, if we play 1 upfront, like the last few games, then he's a replacement/sub.

Bolton weren't playing, their game at Blackburn was called off

If we end the loans of Henderson, Reckord, Brown and Ball now, that should free up enough wages combined, along with the wages we will currently be paying McG?

Even better if we can get shot of a couple more i.e. ROD, Bell. Kilbane has already fallen on his sword in this regard.

My fault - the BBC reported this incorrectly and I didn't check before posting.

According to MR when I took him out for a pre Christmas tipple he suggested that the signing of Clarkey was the bait on offer for McG to stay.

The two are too similar in their game style so can't see us keeping both of them!

It's just one person CJ repeating it again and again I believe

It is common knowledge that CJ talks useless nonsense on a regular basis

I think cody is far from useless at this level and whilst I hope goldie stays I think cody and Clarke could be good together

What connections do You have cloughie.
I don't expect you to name names. However are we talking playing staff, boardroom level, back room staff or general Ricoh staff.

Totally agree 2/3 loans gone back. 2/3 deadwood players off. That would free more than enough for goldy.

If not I believe if Robins is this superman everyone thinks he is, he should have the power to convert our already 3rd (?) leading goal scorer into a player that can partner Clarke?

I would bet that those four players wages combined wouldn't be more than what DMC is paid.
Also i wouldn't be surprised if some of those players wages were/are being paid by there parent clubs.

Id get rid of Rod, Malaga,Hussey, Bell, Brown, Ball and Jeffers and bring in Jose Baxter or Jake Cassidy along with Bailey, Adams and Moussa.. So with Clarke in it could be 8 out with Recford and Henderson and 5 in 3 perm 2 loans....

I'd get shot of some of them too mate, problem is we need someone to take our players first, that's the tricky part.

Absolutely no chance of McGoldrick staying. Despite SiSU saving £800k/yr when they sign ACL's best offer, there is not a chance in hell of them spending that on the team.

If they sign Clarke, it will be because he is on the cheap for whatever reason. At best he is going to be a replacement, at worst it is a cynical attempt to placate the fans.

Cov have had quite a few players on trial this season, so it wouldn't surprise me if he doesn't sign!

He has scored once in the last 5 games. Ultimately there is a reason why Scunthorpe didn't sign him - even with 11 goals under his belt!

I could be wrong here, but isn't there a rule now that only allows a certain percentage of turnover to be spent on transfers and wages ?
If so, then what ever Sisu might save in rent, wouldn't make a difference in regards McGoldrick staying.

You confused Bolton for Brighton-two places more different than the Ricoh and Valhalla.
