It's more opinion rather than fact. Different people have different views. Points and wins aren't the only way to judge a seasonAre you asking a factual question? Better ask Jim Brown. In the Sixfields season, we may not have got past zero points by this point due to our deduction, but the obvious caveat is that we'd actually won a few games and our points todal / league position was artificially skewed by the -10. penalty.
Not even our worst start in League One is it? Only had 3 points after 8 games in 2012-13 before Robins came in.
For me it was the 1-3 home defeat against Everton in January 2001 that left me with little doubt that it would be a relegation season. Like you it was a strange feeling of foreboding or the loss of something that has great sentimental value. This is obviously slightly potty, but the first day defeat against Middlesbrough in the season we went down from the top flight. It was obvious from day one that the squad was nowhere near good enough to survive. I remember having a feeling of foreboding, one that I had never had before.

Im not looking for the statistically our worst start, im looking for decision making, performances, transfers and tactics, along with wins and pointsErr, surely if you are asking about "our worst start" then that's by definition a factual question, as "worst" in football terms is measurable in terms of wins, goals, points etc.
