Given Sisu's financial meltdown should we start singing 'City till July' like the Southampton fans were doing at St Mary's yesterday rather than 'City till I die'!

Hanging on until July is just enough time for Sisu to sell the players still contracted to the club in their desperate efforts to balance their books.

Coventry Town is not accurate and does not sound right as our new name.

Coventry Rangers comes with an unfortunate liklihood we might go straight to Division Two (or Division Three for the Light Blues of Glasgow); so Coventry AFC it may be after administration or liquidation.

Don't like Coventry Villa but Coventry Alexandra might match our new philosophy as a selling club bringing on youngsters to sell.
However, the Saints fans in the pub were delighted to point out that their Swiss owners had invested £2 million in their youth academy in thje last 12 months.

Coventry Academicals - Nah....

What do you think?

This thread was most probably started with tongue in cheek but I really cannot see where we heading. The owners have moved us over to another company....Why? They are clearly not going to invest any money whatsoever in the team and we have very few assets left. Our only income is derived from ticket sales which will no doubt take a hit unless we start off very well indeed next season.......Oh God I'm rambling now! Can someone please tell me that it is all going to be alright.!

It's a fitting new theme song, suited to our poorly and decrepit state! Maybe we can get Richard Wilson in as fitness coach? One for the oldies, there

I'd look to be original re: names. We could go for something American, like Pirates or Bullet's; Cougar's if we want to be alliterative. If we get re-formed and SISU keep the club through dodgy financial trickery, we could be the Coventry Capitalists!

Why do we assume the name has to change? Haven't Newport, Accrington, Aldershot gone into liquidation and reformed with the same name?

Yes and that was at the insistance of the football league but why I don't know. Oddly they used to be called Town before going bust and reforming as Borough!!

The rules have changed, you have to change your name now. AFC is the usual way round it. And two divisions below Leamington (3 below Nuneaton) is the highest level a Phoenix Club can join the pyramid at since last season.
