Can’t remember the last time City were putting the wobblers on the promotion candidates.

Before our run of form I was looking very negatively at the Portsmouth, Sunderland & Barnsley matches but now the pressures on them to secure that 2nd automatic spot and City could well be one of the major deciding factors in that race!

Our massive away following will only crank up the pressure.

Honestly hope Sunderland fuck it up and then we dump them out in the playoffs.

Then they’ll have a real reason to hate us!

Consigning Sunderland to another year in League one would be fricking awesome... their fan base would have a meltdown if it was us who did it

They have some decent fans but the sadistic things they have said about people who can no longer defend themselves is absolutely disgraceful from human beings to another...i wish them all they deserve

I still think it’s a bridge too far and a really tough ask. If we went into the Doncaster game needing something they better close the home end down!

We really need to keep our expectations in check. There’s gonna be slip up.

As adage says if we are in a shout at Doncaster I’d take that and treat that like a cup final. And then who knows.

Ideally in similar circumstances to how we beat Notts County - full on melt down

I expect Sunderland will relocate their ticket office to the local job centre for next season, once Nissan announce they are relocating to France!

Isn’t the stat that last season playing in league two we averaged more away in all comps than Sunderland have this year? They really do overestimate how ‘big’ they are. Be interesting to see how it’ll go when they miss out on autos - judging by that Netflix doc they will have an absolute fit !

We are a far bigger and far better supported club than you. Always have been and always will be.

“Massive away following” in the OP, try taking 8k to Blackpool. Or having 70k applications in 3 days for a Mickey Mouse cup final.

We made up more than a third of the attendance at Wasps’ ground earlier this season. There were 34k there to see us play the mighty Walsall at the weekend and 46k to see us play Bradford on Boxing Day. The sort of crowds your poxy little village outfit could only dream of.

I’d be jealous if I was you too. Hopefully you’re fucked off to non-league where you belong at the end of the year. Not that anybody would notice or give a shit. :hilarious:

Funny how massive their club is, yet they are still struggling to get promoted from a league with village teams in it. This despite their huge following and still getting parachute payments Hopefully they’ll be where they belong next season, fighting another relegation battle

Yep. Comes down to that one game and then who knows. Definitely bite your arm off for that.

We have Barnsley, Sunderland and Pompey away. All very tough games. This tells me it could be very, very close, because in my wildest dreams I wouldn't expect us to win all three, or even avoid defeat in all three.

We are bound sure to lose more games down the stretch. We are also coming up against teams fighting for their lives down the wrong end of the table too, who are going to fight tooth and nail and we have a habit of failing against those sorts of teams anyway.

I think we will be close, but ultimately fall just short, so going into the Doncaster game still in with a shout would be some achievement.

No I’m not saying playoffs are a shoe-in my op was about causing trouble to those teams going for autos.

I think those teams will be looking at the fixtures and identifying us as tough ones-even if it’s at home.

Re: Lost Mackem. Yes Sunderland are a better supported club than us. We still have a good away support though. Where Mackem let's himself down is letting his bitterness shine through. No need mate. Life is too short. I'm thoroughly enjoying our season and let's see what lies in wait! PUSB.

Oh dear. A mackem meltdown on our forum. Always bitter, always in Newcastle's shadow. Will those 70k for the mickey mouse final (that we've already won) be dressed up as empty red seats the following week? See how many turn up after the years at this level we've had - been to Roker half empty too. Still, the one plus side of you being down here is that at least Cattermole's finally found his level.

Oh and did I mention that Jimmy is in heaven with Maggie and they're both sipping champagne and laughing at you

Do you mean Maggie Thatcher? In heaven? Jesus Christ you do see some shit on the internet.

You do realise that according to the Centre for Cities "Nearly 1 in 3 urban jobs were in manufacturing in 1981; it was just 1 in 8 in 1991" and "The largest drops in manufacturing employment were experienced by Luton, Burnley, Coventry and Derby, and not some of the northern cities with the most media profile during the 1980s". As a result "cities lost population; Glasgow lost population between 1971 and 1991, with other cities consistently losing people between 1971 and 1991 including Coventry, Manchester, Newcastle, Dundee, Liverpool and Glasgow. This had a long-term impact on the physical fabric of those cities, leaving many struggling with more office space and housing than their population required". This is the tip of the iceberg and can be expanded upon if required.

The Mackems that constantly harping on about us consigning them to relegation despite the fact that they 2-0 at Goodison are morons, but eulogising Thatcher as a means to wind them up is fucking daft, especially coming from Coventry.

Of course, if you meant a different Maggie then apologies.

If Jimmy is there I would hope he would have nothing to do with someone like Thatcher (Can’t believe that she would get there anyway).

Many Mackems had 2 bottles of champagne on ice, 1 for when Sir Jimmy died, the other for when the great Lady T passed on
