Now on CovMAD, someone has sent in an article claiming that if Richard Keys is involved in the taking over of the club, then he and many others will not be going to the games, simply because Keys isn't a 'true' City fan...

"To all concerned – If Richard Keys is to be part of the new ‘Coventry City’ you can count me and many others out for the future.
We are all happy with Gary and Joe who are genuine fans (sky blue through and through) but Keys has hardly darkened our door since we were relegated and only turned up in the Premier League when we were on TV or it was convenient (i.e The Giants were arriving at Highfield Road).
I think he has been to approximately 5 matches in the Championship.
Why is it when he is a) out of a real job and b) trying to get himself back in the lime light he can really believe he will be welcome.?"

Richard Keys is a massive City fan, whoever wrote that thread is a plonker. When working for Sky it would of been difficult to go to every match and going to every game doesn't make you a "good" supporter, i see and hear many regular fans boo, jeer and ridicule many a City player at the drop of a hat.

I summed it up on twitter in two words something along the lines of "passive banker" !!! Also he's no
City fan if he does or even thinks that...

I forgot to stop supporting the club when Robins took over and Richardson took over and McGinnity and Fletcher Ranson and Ken Dulieu. After all none of them are City fans.

In fact I am disgusted that Jimmy Hill was ever our manager.

Yours sincerely,

Outraged from Cloudcuckooloand.

Who cares if they are City fans or not as long as they have the money? As for "City Fans Are Never Happy". No shit , Sherlock. The penny has finally dropped!

Maybe SISU have a plan. Leave us with a shite squad and a lack of signings for a season. Then Sign some players. Cov fans might be greatful for the first time ever :thinking about:

SISU OUT!! I'm not going again while SISU are in charge!!

Well what about this alternative?

NO! We want a CCFC fan in charge! Only they understand the fans' frustrations!

Richard Keys is a Cov fan.

NO! He never goes to the games!

OK, so it's SISU IN then?

NO! I'm a Cov fan, I only ever want to moan! God could take us over with the backing of Bill Gates, Roman Abramovich and the Sultan of Brunei, every one of them singing the sky blue song and I still wouldn't be happy. SISU OUT! SISU IN! SISU OUT!

Hi Torch
Surely it must count for something being a fan of the club, it has to give us common ground to start with.
Sisu alledgedly, had money, but no interest in coventry city, as a club, or even football as a whole, the trust has to start somewhere, so why not Richard Keys, he is a Coventry bloke, and a fan of the club, surely this criteria, will instill more hope and belief in the supporters, than the faceless, off shore, money lending, bankers and accountants, that are at this very moment, steering, the "Good Ship Sky blue" onto the rocks.
AS to the comments about Sky blue Fans are never happy,
apart from our Epic cup campaign of 87, "sky blue" fans, have been the most long suffering supporters in the land, with nothing but relegation, and money Crisis, to occupy their minds, given the results and performances, over the last 25 yrs or so, its a miracle, that we have any fans left at all.

I don't know how you quoted a post of mine that had been edited by someone other than me, Rob - but I agree with it.

I'm not saying it shouldn't be Hoffman or Keys. All I'm saying is that at the end of the day as long as people have got money to put into the Club, sort us out and start to improve the squad then I don't think it really matters.

Finding a mega-rich man (or consortium) is tough enough without wishing/hoping/whatever that they're Coventry fans too. The odds are even longer.

Yes, we have had it tough for the last 25 years, but fans are fans and we've stuck around, haven't we? And I don't intend to go anywhere else just yet, so I'll be around hopefully for another 25, along with you lot on here.

Was that article really worth publishing on the world wide web?

Utter rubbish...

We need the support of the media right now to be honest...
