“We have had a written offer from Cardiff, as we did from Bristol City last week, and phone calls from a couple of other clubs in the Championship inquiring about Richard's availability and what our thoughts are on the matter,“ confirmed City's development director Steve Waggott, who admits it could be a difficult to hang on to Keogh if a Premier League club comes calling.

“I have said to them that at the moment we are in contractual discussions with him and his agent regarding extending his contract and keeping him at Coventry.

“Our thoughts are to see where we can get to from a Coventry perspective because we would love him * subject to the manager's discussions with him * to take on the captaincy and lead the team back to the Championship. That's where we are at the moment but there may be a different discussion if a club of a higher league status comes in for him.“

This waggott geezer is a mug.

Another one of sisu's puppets. Between him and that Fisher theres more spin then a washing machine.

If the gullible fans wanna carry on believing the bollocks then good luck.

Yep that's how is reads to me too. So may as well ignore the bit about captaincy as he won't be here.

When is the Early Bird price over? For season tickets...not for buyers of our players. That is never over. Like the DFS sale.

And what do people expect? "We've had offers to, to be fair, he'll probably go... We're going to make ROD captain"

1 Mill or over for Keogh and he will be gone, we are in no position to fight these sort of offers off, shame but its reality of the situation we are in. The sad thing with Keogh is, if we lose him we'll lose Craine and with Platt already gone those 3 players who would of given the squad the assets of physicality and experience that league 1 is really about.

But reality will determine the path we go on and even though last year should of taught the owners something im not sure they are in a postion to effect a different outcome.

The worst feeling is the loss of hope but if the exit door keeps spinning while the entrance door is stuck that feeling will be the only one amougst the fans.

All boards have been the same regarding season tickets, say one thing but mean another to get fans to buy season tickets, I am not defending SISU, the big differance now with football is that it can get talked about on a larger scale and scrutinized by forums such as this.

Years ago no-one really gave a shit about who was running the club just who won come saturday, and talk about it up the pub.

The problem SISU have is, even if there telling the truth whoever it maybe and about what the subject is, no-ones going to beleive them where as years ago before internet they could say there little bit in the CT and people beleived that.

What I am basically saying is all owners lie to get season tickets sold, maybe just maybe they are trying hard to keep RK here, we may never know, depends who you beleive same as the takeover talks.

Surely making Sammy captain last season was just to convince him to stay for the last year of his contract, otherwise I've no clue why he was captain. I'd love Keogh to stay and he should have been captain all last season but
I'm resigned to the fact he's leaving.

I agree. This is not the only time in our history when practically a whole squad of players has left the club to be replaced by journeymen from the lower leagues (only we're in the lower league now). If anyone recalls the early eighties, we had a very promising squad of young players such as Danny Thomas, Mark Hateley, Garry Thompson, Gary Gillespie et al, who all left the club to be replaced by the likes of Nicky Platnauer, Graeme Withey, Dave Bamber etc. Eventually that turned out ok, just like it will this time. It just seems that there isn't much hope at the moment.

Coventry City have rejected an offer from Cardiff City for Richard Keogh and are continuing discussions regarding a new contract for the defender.
Following Coventry's relegation from the Championship, Keogh is attracting interest and the club have already rejected a 'derisory' bid from Bristol City.
Cardiff have now made a move for the centre-half, but a reported £800,000 offer has been snubbed as rival clubs monitor the situation.

If that figure is true... it does show intent, considering how little we let Turner go for.

The only reason that offer has been snubbed, if indeed it has, is because they are holding out for more. He'll be gone, the question is only for how much. Its highly unlikely the manager will be given any of this either. In fact, SISU holding back the accounts is probably dependant on a player sale soon to enable them to proceed.

IF ( a big IF i know ) we keep Keogh after having turned down £800k i think that could be a massive turning point for the club, the feelings towards SISU, and a huge boost for next season.

Lets hope the IF becomes a reality and he leads the team out 1st game of the season with the captains arm band on!

You think if they turn down a bid for keogh feelings towards to sisu will change? Your'e having a laugh mate, they've sold and let go of way to many players over the last four years for people to suddenly start liking them, not to mention the four years of bullshit, which is still happening.

i'm not saying people will start ti like them, but it could possibly be the signs of the future, that there is money there to keep the likes of Keogh, and if we can do that having turned down confirmed bids of reasonable amounts, you would have to give SISU some credit.

as i said in my 1st post its a massive 'IF' lets see if it actually happens 1st!!!

So sisu and AT have said they want to keep Keogh, he is holding contract talks and they have turned down a £800k offer. But yet people kick off anyhow!!

I do think we have somehow flicked onto moan mode.

Me? I will just wait and see what happens and unfolds, going off on a rant about something that may or may not happen is bit tiresome now. IMO

Not that I particularly want him gone, but he's not worth £1m. If I was SISU, or I believed it would be put back into the team, then I'd have to sell. However I'm not SISU, and I don't believe it will be reinvested, then give us back our Keogh!
