4th favourites behind Bournemouth , Doncaster and Swindon.

Was expecting the odds to be quite a bit higher to be honest. 14/1 to win the league?

Anyone brave enough to take a punt? Not me for sure.

Suppose it might be worth a gamble to have a few quid on it now in the hope a takeover happens. That might be worth the punt.

Ridiculous really. Dependant on off the field antics we could be anything from odds on to 500-1

Swindon & the bookies just have Di Canio fever. They won't get promoted again.

I would have put us at about 50/1 to 66/1.

Top 6, around 25/1 - 33/1.

14/1 seems very, very low.

But don't forget Bookies are City fans so they don't automatically write us off three months before the new season even starts!

They've obviously given us those odds simply because we SHOULD be one of the favourites to go up. However, they haven't really looked into the "goings on behind the scenes" have they?

What's the story with Bournemouth then? They had massive investment or something? Why are they one of the favourites?

Crazy odds, but have to say it's depressing to hear "behind bournemouth, swindon and doncaster"

If he stays, diouf will smash at least 30 fir doncaster, making them real contenders .

I,d lay 14's all day long

Those odds don't take into account that 3 of the four playoff teams will be there aswell so I wouldn't think we will remain 4th favourites ahead of potentially Sheffield u, mk dons and Huddersfield. Also like to point out we are joint 4th fav with Crawley.... Not happy reading!!!! Odds on skybet.

Crawley?

Oh dear. Day by day our demise sinks in all the more.

What are the odds on relegation?? We'll be a lot closer to the relegation zone then promotion with this squad.

Well totally agree.

Guess it's all now down to whether or not we do bring players in and just how many. That is going to govern how our season pans out.

For me, we need to ship out before we bring in, quite happy for the whole team to be moved on.

After the play off teams, the "impartial" bookies will have us about joint 7th

Any of the "we will, walk this league" posters care to comment on this..
,the bookies will have us as outside odds for the play offs

Don't let Paxman catch you saying that, in his eyes our squad "should have easily stayed up" in the championship.

Paxman is an island unto himself.

Wish I could have what some of he's having. I said all season we would struggle last year with what we had.

Yeah me too - just had another look at our stats - out top goals scorer in the league was Juke with 9. How depressing.

Actually, thinking about it, I may just have a punt on us winning the league at 14/1. Better odds if I can get them.

Might just be worth the gamble of having £50 on in the hope that somehow we are bought out by billionaires before the season starts.

The odds may lengthen when we lose craine and keogh, which we know we will, I'd be holding out for 20's as a minimum, and even then it's a licience to print money by the bookies

Bournemouth have got big investment behind them. Personally I think we will make the play-offs but winning the league is a bit far, however not out of the question. Don't right us off before pre-season has even started! We don't even know who will own the club so give the lads a chance please. This forum is supposed to be for supporters, not fucking depressives bluddy hell!

Yep. A very, very, very long shot and total punt.

Still more chance than of winning the lottery though.

Actually, talking of the lottery, it is a crock of shit. I had a go on the Thundeball and won £100. For £100 you have to get 4 out of the 5 numbers. 4 out of 5 and that only wins £100? That is a disgraceful return. The odds of getting 4 numbers is 3,600/1.

Not sure why but there aren't any odds for Pompey on that list on skybet. Will they be more fancied than us???? If so we could be joint 8th on the list!!!!! Oh god, I need a drink!!!!!!!!!!!

The odds are fair. Seriously have a look at some of the squads in the league they are really poor. On a pure statistics basis players like bell and mcsheffrey are stand outs. Also statistically bigger attended clubs tend to get promoted quicker.
Have a look at Stevenage and the squad and seriously debate man for man they are better. Yes additions are needed certainly a striker and a couple of league one savvy midfielders but this is not as bad as people make it.

8 players are needed. 4 loans and 4 free transfer experienced pros. Back up at left back, a right winger a left winger. Creative midfielder. 2 strikers. A back up hard man. And one more depending on who leaves

Don't agree and have you made that statement looking at the quality of the squads or just because it's a pre season excuse for inevitable failure. Look at stevenages squad and tell me they are better. Remember wood will be back next season, Mcpake probably forced back and these are players who will be very good in the league. McDonald is a half a million pound striker, hardly any clubs in this league have such valuable assets to play.

Having seen. How not having enough depth and quality in a squad affected us this season. I think you need two reasonable players in each position. I think we will lose Keogh cranie. We have already lost clingan nimley and Norwood. I think we will lose more. However that is 5 out. 5 of our best. From a squad that was too weak. I am suggesting those 5 replaced and a couple on top. How could you disagree with that?

I would agree that our senior players on paper look better than Stevenages. However the game isn't played on paper and Stevenage have a lot more lower league experience, character, strength and pace than we have.

I don think they will be looking at our squad with much jealousy.
