And it looks like he expects to see Cyrus in the premiership some time so also (premiership is out of their reach I think for the both of them. At this stage of their career anyway)

@cakpom9: back home :) , gonna miss @cyruschristie , soon see him in the prem ! #baller

I saw him at Colchester and we certainly will not miss him. Those bloody flicks that went to the opposition were atrocious.

He won't be seeing Christie in the Prem as he will be at bloody Torquay or somewhere else at that level, though Cyrus is not good enough IMO for the Prem

did it ever really start.

In a season that has been full of complete jokes for this football club, this loan is one of them

Cyrus will never make it in the Premier League. Has zero technique and in the PL everyone is an athlete.

Do people not think we have not used Chuba in the right way? OK, I know it's reserve team / youth team football, but when he's been back playing in arsenals set up, he's scored. He's then had to come here and play differently and hasn't really cut it. Maybe that's not his fault but ours? Just a thought

I've only seen a little bit of him, but has he had many chances?

No, I think he's one of those that is big and strong compared to his under 18's peers who can bully people at that level as well as having the skill and he's come into a physical men's league and it's men v boys.

You can't compare what he's done in arsenals U18's with our first team. Look at the likes of George Thomas, Daniels, Haynes, etc

How many have we had through the door and how many have stuck ,are they managerial choices ??

I've never heard of a deal like that, its total madness that a loanee can go back to his home club.

LOL, what bollards you spout.

Loans are usually fixed until a recall, usually to cover an injury at the home club, what isn't in anyway normal is for a recall to be interrupted for a short period to go back and play a match. Very odd.

What a strange deal it was.

Too many! Look at last season, and how many we brought in, and how many of the same players left less than 12 months later.

I really don't get this new bandwagon of jumping on Cyrus' back from a few fans on this board. Is it just lashing out looking for a scapegoat?

Is saying a that you don't think a league one footballer will be good enough for the PL, getting on his back or scapegoating him?

Cyrus is a talent and has potential to be at the top but right now he isn't good enough. His defending is poor and his final delivery/cross is also poor.

Not that comment in particular Stupot, my post was more to do with a seemingly ever increasing trend on this board to single him out more than some others who are equally responsible for our defensive woes.

I totally agree, he is currently nowhere near the required level for Premier League but he undoubtedly has stacks of potential that could go either way and at the age of 21 with already 100 senior football appearances under his belt, he has a good foundation to build on.

At this level, I think he is a very good right back due to his attacking intent. A League One Glen Johnson, a bit suspect defensively but this is outweighed by what he offers going forward. At Leyton Orient, him bombing forward looked our only way of being able to get a goal.

Then again, I haven't been to a game since Leyton Orient away so people may have been seeing something different since then.

Maybe I'm a bit of 'Kevin Keegan' at times? Score more than the opposition regardless of how many they score. Hence why I'm all for attacking full backs!

Years of the likes of Stephen Wright and Dean Gordon have scarred me.

exactly what i was thinking.

its only being done because he is most likely to leave so they are trying to soften the blow by hating him.

idiots.

Ever since the internet existed and gave fans a platform to rant on, that's been going on though for 90% of players, I guess its a nature of the beast.

- Player A is brilliant when he's at your club.
- Player A starts having questions raised about his ability when there are rumourings of him leaving.
- History books rewritten for Player A when he leaves, as he wasn't all that good after all.

Christie will be looked at by higher level clubs just on the simple basic attributes he has,, Pace, Physically, Athleticism and Age, he for most is a gamble worth taking... Christie has lots of room to improve and clubs will look at the potential more than signing a finished article, for me he should of gone last year he needs a fresh start with better players around him to develop as a player.

How far can he go? that is a question nobody knows, potentially he can play in the premiership. Will he get the chance in my opinion, yes but needs time with that standard of player everyday to adapt. Also don't get league 1 player status, Andros Townsend, Adam llana and Ricki Lambert were all playing at that standard and until given the opportunity not 1 was mentioned as a international never mind premership standard. So never assume a player can't if he has certain attributes that are seen week in week out on MoTD.

An eye-wateringly high number. Managerial turnover doesn't help this, of course. From last season there were 24 players I think who were in our first team squad at one time or another who were not with us for the Crawley game for the opening day. 24!!

Maybe he's seen this loan jaunt as a bit of a laugh and hasn't taken it all that seriously, whereas at Arsenal there's much more incentive to play well.

Very true. High turnover of managers all with different playing styles who overall the squad to get players that for their playing style, get sacked then the new manager starts from scratch.

To be fair though most league one clubs have high turnovers of players
