Seems Bury have got new owners and EFL have granted extension for it to go through and let Bury finally start their season.

And best of all, there’s a few thousand grateful people in Cov who can relax once more knowing they can escape the house full of relatives for the Boxing Day fixture!!

I really hope this all goes through, I really feel for Burys fans. Some very silly management has led to the threat of non existence and their despair - that sounds familiar. We're just lucky enough that it didn't go this far for us, and I have the greatest sympathy towards their fans, it has been a disgrace to the footballing world yet again.

Good luck Bury, let's hope you get back on your feet. Except against us, 6 points would be nice, thanks

I didn’t know bury had won the FA Cup...twice apparently!
Hopefully, this is their way forward. Sad to see clubs struggling; distressing when it’s your own club.
I was thinking about this at the start of the season, when looking around St Andrews. Cov are part of my identity - I sometimes (often) wish they weren’t.

It's great that they have a lifeline but this same cycle of boom and bust can't continue. I hope this will be a wake up call for the league.

Most clubs seem to be living beyond their means. It surely can’t be long before one goes to the wall. Were Aldershot the last to do so? Worryingly, given that we have few assets, I’d say we’d be prime candidates. Who would want to save us?!

I’ve never forgiven Elliot for pushing in front of me in the queue for the bar at Swindon a couple of years back. For that reason alone I think he would fail the ‘fit and proper’ owners test.

Pleased for them and pleased for myself - I get to keep one of the 92 I've visited.
Mind you, I occasionally weep when I think of the half dozen I've lost after they fell out of the league.

Pleased they've not gone under but I'm always wary of these people coming in last minute as 'saviours'. Are they also being opportunists hoping the timescale will result in them not being scrutinised to a proper level - desperation just leads you to want anyone to take over? Also a chance it may not happen if the books have as many discrepancies as has been suggested.

When you live on the doorstep of two of the biggest clubs in the world you have to admire the teenagers that support the club. I do some work in Bury and it's a good little town full of it's own identity, something that is fast becoming evident in our fair city where the powers that be are full throttle on taking us under. My concern is if this was us at the eleventh hour would we find a potential buyer. This should be a warning!!

Didn't say I wish they went bust or out the league, I just don't see what all the sympathy to them is all about when they showed no sympathy for other clubs. Goes back to that saying respect others how you would like to be respected.

We have enough c**t fans of our own. When they do the stupid shit that they do, so when as a club we’re staring in the face of oblivion and despair do you think it’s fair that fans of other teams say, ‘oh fuck them, they’re scum’?

Well, the Sunderland fans certainly did and more besides, disrespecting JH and his death, and wishing the Luftwaffe had done a better job.
I could go on but if Sunderland were on the verge of disappearing,I would be first in line to say "fuck 'em, they're scum"

Tbh the moment something goes against them on the pitch they’re quick to have a whinge about other fans. Everyone is scum. Must be a north-eastern thing to be the ‘worst run club in the world’.

Newcastle, Sunderland, never have liked either of them, never will. I can only wish them misfortune on the pitch though.

Robbie you are too kind. Most Sunderland fans probably think Luftwaffe is a aftershave. The REAL fans with ALL clubs are very decent friendly guys and gals and would feel sympathy with any club suffering. As was said above all clubs have a minority who everyone feel embarrassed to be associated with.

Been to Bury away every year we’ve played them since going down, first time I went with a mate, we parked up and a Bury old boy noticed my shirt and scarf and walked with us down to the ground to show us the way. Even invited us into the members bar. Always loved going there since then, agree with what others have said, it’s a real struggle for them to attract fans due to location. Really hope they’re back up and running and can put this mess behind them and that old boy can watch them with pride again. God knows we should have some sympathy with fans going through it with off the field shite

I still never said I want them to go bust but of you treat others like shit karma will note you and it clearly has now I do hope they survive as we could do with some easy games, that and I don't want to see another club go out of existence.

Looks like Bolton might be kicked out of the League on Tuesday now - EFL have given them a Tuesday deadline to get the takeover finalised or they will be expelled!
What a mess!
We need Bolton & Bury to survive to preserve the fabric of the game - I feel so sorry for the fans of both clubs!
My fingers are crossed for both of these tremendous football clubs.

You can’t label a club a ‘scum club’ because some misguided idiot made a banner. We have some dickhead fans as well and it’s far too easy to take the minority as a representation of the entire fan base. Bury and Bolton are both proper working mans clubs that the EFL should be helping to preserve, its not the fans fault some morons have been writing cheques the club will never be able to cash, and considering we went to a vote to stay in the FL you’d think you would be a bit more sympathetic

As well as preserving the "fabric of the game" we need them to survive to preserve that point we wrestled off them.
