OK I only saw two away games last year and one TV match.

Cyrus is without doubt one of the best players Coventry had. cant understand why people knock him

tip Cyrus - get fit and you will do very well

Shame you had to leave BUT I dont blame you . Must be rubbish playing for home city club and not playing in home City and in level 3 as well. All down to SISU.

Very best to luck Cyrus!

He's only ever going to make it as a winger... not a defender.

In fairness to Cyrus he wasn't totally rubbish last season, he had really good games against Gillingham & Colchester at Sixfields, he had a really good second half against MK Dons at the MK, but really except for those 2 and a half games I don't think Cyrus really impressed last season.

and two games the year before!

I's like to think I know something about football and can spot the better players in the team.

With Steve MaClaren coaching him he has every chance to become a much better player. Cannot believe these so-called City fans on here decrying him just because he is leaving, yet another player with potential quality leaving to fund the sisu pot, oh and Aaron Phillips will be next, probably around Christmas time.

It's not a punt at Cyrus because he is leaving, Cyrus is a good athlete, I personally think that Cyrus would be better off as a Winger, because Cyrus can't defend, that said I think Cyrus was a Winger through youth levels but was converted to a Right Back.

Based on last season Cyrus wasn't our best Right Back, but his Agent and the hype surrounding Cyrus has got him a very good move, Good luck to him.

derby fans are well excited to be signing him, wonder what they will be like five games in when they realise he cant defend or cross.

got wrecked by league one wingers, so doubt he will stand a chance against championship

I don't think anyone is doing that. In fact, I think people have said "good luck" to him

I like Aaron Philips but he might not get a look in next year. Pressley seems to see Willis as a right back. I think Willis is a centre back and want to see Philips start the season at right back.

He had his head turned and it effected his game badly, not a lot you can do apart from getting him moved on

He can't head, he can't tackle, he can't shoot, he can't cross, he can't pass, he cant control. All he can do is run and dribble

I know Cyrus and his family and I didn't know where he was heading, kept it a tight secret but this is a great move for him as at this level there is no better than Steve MaClaren and he wouldn't sign anyone just for the fun of it. He turned an ordinary Derby team into a real force in the championship and will be one of the favourites to go up this season. As I said before another potential starlet lost to our club along with Ben Turner, Arron Gunnarson, possibly Callum Wilson and others.

His head wasn't turned, he was being hawked around for transfer last October, sisu trying to get as much dosh as possible for him but he ran his contract down and went where he wanted to go.

We turned down several bids for him from Huddersfield which was where the trouble started, his agent then wanted championship wages in any contract deal which we could not offer. People will have thier own opinion of his ability but a close friends son grew up with him and my friend says you could not meet a more polite and decent lad so for me good luck to you Cyrus.

Let him go, he wants to, it's a good move for him, we get a fee and maybe a player in return. Move on. We have Phillips and Willis who I believe will both become better that Cyrus.

Bit harsh. Most of the team had dire second half seasons not only Christie. I remember Spurs were actually look at him earlier in the season and sometimes a player can perform better playing at a higher league. Div 1 players aren't actually brimming with skills and it's more blood and thunder. Christie will play well in a 'footballing' team. He may even be good in the Premier. Just because he can't play Div 1 or 2 football doesn't mean he is a bad footballer.

CT reporting compo has been agreed, so no tribunal...medical later today.

See you later Cyrus - sadly your 3 years in the first team was marred by the worst period in the club's history with relegation, rent strikes, admin, players under god knows how many managers, points deductions and the exile to Sixfields (in fact he has been at the club since 2002 so has seen the whole decline since the PL relegation.)

Time will tell. Your ability to put in a tackle or make a cross is independent of 'blood and thunder' which considering his athleticism isn't a problem anyway. If he could cross he'd be much better off played as a winger such is his speed and dribbling ability.

There was no actual proof spurs were monitoring him, and I seriously doubt they were. It was just another rumour most likely

Lol yes but could Roberto Carlos defend? can Marcelo defend or can dani Alves defend? Clearly not but they are still some of the best full backs in the world and play at the highest level.

Good luck Cyrus, best for all really. He does have potential, but was one of our worst players last season, definitely the worst defender. He was very poor this season. A huge reason we conceded so many goals this year. Wouldn't mind Phillips or willis at RB, impressed me when they filled throughout the year.

Cyrus Christie so rubbish he has got a move to a Championship club that was in the play offs last year. Meanwhile we pick up some Bournemouth reserves on loan. Some rubbish spoken on here. Good luck to him.

So you are telling me that Roberto Carlos who won the world cup, 4 Spanish La Liga titles, 3 Champions League titles, FIFA defender of the year twice and runner up to world player of the year once was not a good defender?

I think he was a great defender and a personal hero of mine yes but he couldn't defend. He was an attacking as cyrus was. Look at his defend in stats and he wasn't good at stopping goals like cyrus. That's my point. Both are the same player but on different levels.

And by the way, I think Christie is a decent player who didn't live up to his potential last season but I think if coached to the best of his ability can become a good player.

Probably better than Robert Carlos.
