Coventry City manager Steven Pressley has confirmed right-back Cyrus Christie will be out for four weeks with an ankle injury.

The 21-year old sustained the injury during the 1-0 win over Stevenage, and was replaced by Jordan Willis late on in the game.

The club were awaiting scan results on the injury and Pressley admitted he was relieved it wasn't as bad as first thought.

The City boss said: "We got the results of the scan back this week and our physio has made a further assessment of the results. He is likely to be up to four weeks out.

"On the face of it, it is an absolute blow but we did fear it could have been even worse than that. Although I am bitterly disappointed he will be out, I am delighted it isn't for an extended period of time."

That's bad news. Hopefully it is just a month and he doesn't do anything stupid and push himself too hard to get back early. Last thing we need to am already thin squad is to extend the time he is out!

Bad blow, but time for Clark to show what he can do in this position, I think

I'd play Phillips RB and keep Clarke at CB. Clarke and Webster are building a decent partnership, no point completely disrupting the back four, when only 1 change is required.

I seem to remember Christie saying that he had been targeted by certain Stevenage players and requested the ref offer him greater protection in the second half of the match last Saturday.

Thanks go to the ref, Westley and his usual thuggish tactics.:jerkit::jerkit:

Squad is beginning to look very thin. Will they:

1. "Promote" another one of the youngsters

2. Look for a decent loan signing

3. Do nothing and hope for the best?

Would rather it was 2 with 1 as a fall back but worried it might be 3.

Bring in Acadamy Captain

With Christie out its time to bring in Acadamy Captain Ivor Lawton.Hes a top prospect for the future and has great attitude and can play in back four or in his favoured position in midfield-can tackle too!

He did make a point of it at Half Time but fell on deaf ears! Westley obviously succeeded in his bullyish tactics didn't he :jerkit:

I'd opt for Phillips in place of him, like for like swap.

Alright Ivor, welcome to the forum

Got to be time for Urquhart to step up surely? Move Clarke over to RB and IMO that looks a more solid, if less effective going forward, defence.

Christie is a big miss as he offers so much going forward, however it is time for Aaron Phillips to be given the chance. He was the only bright spark against Orient coming on and making several strong tackles and interceptions
