£80 million - wow! Just seen a report that intimates he is likely to be seen in F1 circles in a team ownership role next year. be nice if he fancies sticking some of that into CCFC

Apparently it's 'only' £52m....

Red Bull: Christian Horner formally leaves with £52m pay-off

Christian Horner formally leaves Red Bull after agreeing a severance deal following his sacking as team principal in July.

Yes just seen that as well big difference between the Times figure and the BBC - I’d happily settle for either

It's unlikely but not totally implausible, King has clearly managed to attract investment from somewhere and a City fan with a few quid spare and who's paid a few visits to the club...who knows.

Hopefully mate, hopefully he invests some money in the club, being a Cov fan and not involved with the F1 anymore he's got alot more time, be nice if he teamed up with Komastu to invest in the club

He will have a lifestyle where millions are needed to fund it. If he invests, which I hope he does, it will be strategic funds i suspect. I hope however he gets closer to the club in his spare time and can bring something from what he has learned over the years in elite sport to help the players.

A box at Silverstone would be great for team building at the very least!

I doubt Horner has ever or will ever invest in CCFC, I don't think he is that much of a fan, he was interviewed at an F1 race & the interviewer asked him about us and he seemed to know very little. Probably becomes a fan when free tickets are available

He's a Walsall fan.

If he was going to get anything sorted to do with the club it'd be the train station!

He's doing a tour with one of Boyzone (and not even one of the better ones) so I guess he's pretty desperate!

It’s £80m not even £800m. The latter wouldn’t even pay players wages for a season in the PL.

Each to their own but if I had double digit millions in the bank I would happily buy a couple of boxes at the CBS and donate them to the Sky Blues in the Community to give charity workers, veterans and local schools an opportunity to use them. I would not notice the difference of 50 odd thousand and would be very happy knowing I was supporting the club I support as well as giving hundreds of people a memorable experience.

It's €60m or £52m. It is to pay his contract up. He has been with them since we left the Prem. His wages didn't suddenly shoot up.

How many Prem sides have astronomical wage bills?

I wonder what Ginger ever saw in him.......

LOL!
You have to wonder what he saw in her....
She seems insufferable, and has never been eye candy (even in her heyday)
Baby Spice was obviously unavailable.

Hopefully his 40% tax bill will pay for a few more nurses.
Edit. Lucky to get it paid in before the budget!
