He needs an op for a chipped bone but will play through the pain to help City's cause.

Fair play to him I think its vital we have a proper LB who can attack the wing an cross if we are going to keep this run going

Fair play to him. I do think we are stronger with Craine at left back and Cameron at Centre half. Hussey is very suspect defensively IMHO.

His attacking presence is needed if we are to try and get balls into the box IMO. Defending wise he can be suspect, but the other players, usually Thomas or Bigi are usually pretty good at covering him.

All about winning games at this point and playing the diamond with only one natural fullback is like boxin with one hand behind your back.

I like Hussey a lot, but priority one for the summer has to be someone to challenge him.

I'm not a huge fan of Hussey, as much as I want to be. However, as has been said, we need left backs playing left back and I am a fan of wing backs bombing forward on the overlap and getting crosses in. He had an impressive return from injury against Pompey too. I look forward to him showing me up and offering a lot on the pitch.

To be fair I was pretty critical early season but he has improved a lot and we look better with him in the team. He is very fit and can go up and down the flanks all day. His crossing can be suspect but he does seem to get more balls into the box than most others in the team. Along with Clark he looks like he has the makings of a good full back and this level.

He's been unfortunate with injuries in his time here-and factoring in that he joined us from non league, it's hardly suprising he's taken time to find his feet. Out and out full backs and wingers are what we have missed for ages now; in Hussey and Clarke, we've got solutions to half the problem.

Always believed this lad can become/is a very good fullback despite criticism of his defensive qualities - we can't have it both ways covering defensively and bombing up the wing, something sometimes has to give, inevitable.

Look at Johnson of Liverpool, Bale of Spurs before converted to wide mid, Cole of Chelsea, Richards of Man C etc all internationals but all at times caught in no man's land between defensive response v attacking options.

CH has a very deceptive style when going forward tending to glide past opposition defenders without a massive rate of knots and very often puts in very decent balls into the box.

He is getting better at his defensive duties as displayed against Pompey with many timely blocks and interventions.

Yes CH will do for me as No 1 choice at LB and yes we do need another quality LB as cover and competition.

Whilst it's good that he's a gutsy player who is prepared to play through the pain barrier for the club, it isn't so good that he has no alternative but to do so as we don't have another LB. Unless you count the other injured one. I guess Pompey would have booked him in for an operation and signed a Premiership loan by now in our situation?

Oh, and I was sat right behind Hussey for our first goal on Saturday: that was a cross, not a shot. Sheff pointed to exactly where he wanted it on the deck as he ran into the box, Hussey looked up at exactly the right time (great awareness) and put the ball into the perfect spot. Illustrated by the way Sheff nonchalantly spun away after finishing: he'd have been visualising the ball in the place where it was actually put, making his task so much easier (great finish that it was). Hussey would have been a mug to have taken a shot from around 35-40 yards with 2 men breaking into the area in front of him anyway.

It does if he takes them from that position with two forwards in space breaking into the area, especially with his goalscoring record. And anyway, I was also in line, and it was a cross! The guys I sit with agree with me. It's a bit of a coincidence otherwise that Hussey put the ball exactly where Sheff was telling him to put it, no? He deserves credit for a great assist, not labelled as lucky for shanking a shot whichSheff luckily re-directed in. That paints an entirely different picture of what was a wonderfully crafted goal.

To be honest, I was also pretty much in line and the way he lined up and body shape looked like he was taking a shot and mis-hit/scuffed it. Just how it looked to me. Coincidences do happen.

How come hussy himself said it was a shot in the post match interview? Was he wrong to?
