It's a joke really. Oh well. Let's see how far he takes Wales in the next tournament.

They were helped by a golden generation of Welsh players; Bale, Ramsey etc.

To be fair though, they were a determined team, with spirit, so that helped them along as well.

Still, 2-1 90+2 mins.... :finger::cigar:

Dont think he got his obe because of his time at fulham

But he got them playing well, and for a country like Wales to get within a match of winning the Euros is a mean achievement to be honest.

No, but apart from Wales, he's never really had a career apart from doing better than expected with Fulham. And even with Wales, he hasn't achieved anything with Bale other than reach a semi final via an "easy" route.

Who's the 300K one above Clingan, thought it was Bell at first, but he's higher up with his fivehead.

To be fair I dont think anybody was upset by the 1.2 mill paid for Eastwood at the time we got him. He just didn't live up to the hype that was built around him.

To give him an honour that Alex Ferguson has been awarded, diminishes the award IMO.

Their exists a bigger picture here which you are all forgetting unfortunately, it's that he picked up the reigns on a youngish team whose manager had just topped himself which helped as well as the great run the team had.

Try to put to the back of your mind his time at Cov if you can.

Also the NI manger got it I believe for bridging sectarian divide in the national team and of course doing well.

It's not about just results

I agree with a lot of what you say, however, he's done well with Wales for a couple of years and the rest of his managerial career has been shit. he doesn't deserve the award.

These awards are out dated rubbish, most are about how much cash you have given to a political party to buy one or civil servants who have just been doing what they are paid well to do. Victoria Beckham has got one for services to fashion who voted Stevie Wonder:banghead:

Fortunately he has a switched on wife ( for money) who immediately trashed the Swansea job for him - taking the Swansea job would have thrownaway all the benefit of the Wales euro effort and committing career suicide - he's another who would never have Coventry mentioned in his introduction

Agree with you on that one, considering he did most of the hard work.

PC brigade gone mad, his team won a couple of games, other than that a pretty average management career.

I just don't get it, maybe if I do an average job for a backwater company maybe I will get one.

Total joke

Being of mostly Welsh decent, I suggest you suck it up because Wales' surge won't last. One tournament wonders, methinks.

Ranks a pile of doo doo though to be fair. England are constantly appearing in the top 10 world rankings.

It's a joke.

Fair play to him. Whatever I think of him as a Coventry manager you can't knock what he's achieved (or should that be overachieved?) as the wales manager. It's too easy to say he had Bail and he carried them. Look at all the superstars that's been in the England team at any given time and they've continually underachieved. That's got to be something to do with the manager on some level.
