Just broke their transfer record for Havertz (£83m) apparently. Some team they’re putting together.

Pressure on Frank to finish top 3, if not win the thing.

I wonder what happens to the likes of Mount, Tomori and Abraham now

I believe Villa are interested in Abraham, they have just splashed the cash (16M) on The Cash.

If Mount, and to a lesser extent Abraham, are not near the first team then it would be fair to call Chelsea out as anti-football. The former has had a great season and looks a future England starter.

This is the issue, too much demand to spend money. Abraham scored a decent amount of goals last season, ended the season as 2nd choice and is arguably now 3rd choice with the arrival of Werner.

As an aside, there is an article on Chelsea’s spending on The Athletic that I really want to read but they’re not doing the free articles each month any more.

Are they going to end up breaking FFP?

Nixon reckons they’ll end up spending £100m plus

You’d think, but then again they haven’t spent for a season so it may well break even. And Abraham is probably worth £30m if they do sell.

They won’t break FFP. It’s something to do with the way the deals are structured. Apprently it’s something to do with an accountancy loophole, The value of the player is spread over his contract. So 83 million goes over 5 years not this one. He goes in as 16.6 million this year

I would guess selling Hazard and a few others has helped
