Do we need a keeper on loan after the way Dunn played? Also is Ireland still injured?

Agreed, Dunn was excellent on saturday although he looked like he had been in the ring with Klitchko before!!

Where has this rumour come from and why would we need keeper number 5 on the books?

Dunn looked a better keeper than murphy by miles. they should stick with him and let murphy be number 2 when hes fit

I agree. He commanded the area so much better than Murphy and took dangerous crosses well.

So he had one decent half and is already better than Murphy, who made the best save of the game anyway?? We need to calm down. Yer he looked alright but how can anyone have a proper opinion on him after one game?

Exactly he needs to be given a chance. From the one half that I have seen him play, he looked far better than I have seen from Murphy over 2.5matches. Would he look better over 2.5 matches? We will hopefully get to find out!

Dunn took one cross! He missed three that were in his six yard box from corners because he couldn't impose himself against the 5'4'' Jamie Ward even though he's 11 inches taller and has the advantage of being able to use his hands! The save he made wasn't anywhere near as special as people are making out, either. The simple fact is that he had to compensate for being slightly out of position and almost guessing the wrong way when standing up was the right thing to do. Sticking out an arm to palm away a shot from outside the box certainly isn't a top-class piece of goalkeeping. It's a perfectly adequate reflex block and nothing more. I like Dunn and I look forward to seeing him again over the next couple of weeks, but really - calm down.

I'll spunk over whatever city players I want to, don't tell me to calm down. It's very rare that I do, but Dunn has got me harder than your grandad on Viagra. Each to their own I suppose.

Dunn did punch a few if I'm honest but, yeah a great debut but if you were at some of the pre season games you wouldn't be to excited!

True, agreed, apart from the "who made the better save" bit. Dunn, by quite a long way!

Jesus, did he shag your missus or something? It was a superb save. If McDonald had scored a goal as good as that save we'd be saying "Marlon who?" I'm not getting over-excited by Dunn by any means, but he was in exactly the right position after the ball broke and it was the best save we've seen since Westwood. He also commanded his area miles better than Murphy. Credit where credit is due. I feel like we were watching different games!

Dunn would have played decent doing what he did but for one reason.

The weather was absolutely sh1te. This made his game even better. Has anybody knocking him played in goal whilst the weather is so shite before? I have. I am a keeper. Having a keeper telling his defence what he wants them to do is what we have been missing. With his size he will get to most balls before most strikers. We have seen his reflexes are good. Most good keepers are mad. He looked it with his headgear on.

Yes, we have only seen him play for 45 mins, but he did everything right. You do not try to catch the ball in weather like we had against Derby. For those watching it on Sky it was slightly windy and wet

Just had a thought. Was signed by SISU. He must be sh1te to some people even if he gets us promotion. Dunn out

Thje biggest point for me with Dunn was his distribution ,we played more to Jukes strengths ,he was phenominal in the air and all sorts of opporotunities opened up for the other boys as a result ,keeping us in their half a hell of a lot more, not suggesting route one ,but it was very effective ,also laid to rest our doubts about Jukes commitment:thinking about:

Nah cant say I agree with you

The save that Murphy made from Jamie Ward was better. One on one and had to be very quick of his line. Not saying that I didnt think that Dunns was a good save though!

Murphy did do well and I was surprised how quick he was off his line as if I was to have any critisism of Murphy it would be he is sometimes indecisive and not always quick off his line.

Dunn's save was quality tho. Initially I thought he got 2 hands to it, but the fact it was one arm outstretched makes it all the better. His reaction was very good. His handling was also very good in pretty rough conditions.

Basing my judgements on pre-season form i sincerely hope Dunn isnt made first choice. He is poor at catching crosses, kicking was dreadful and i felt trepidation everytime the ball went near him. He makes one decent save and now people think he is amazing!

Be careful when having negative things to say about anything Sky Blue on here! It's turning like GMK did a while back. One or two lay into you if you dont agree with the theme of the praising of City players despite how shit they are! Some think Deegans the Irish Paul Gascoigne on here.

I'd say GMK was the opposite! Dare to say anything positive and Hackney Fox, no_dog and lordsummerisle would be right on your case telling you how much better things are at Leicester. This even happened when Leicester got relegated

I dont get how fans are so quick to judge players when the manager and coaches see them day in and day out. If he was better than Murphy he would be in the team, Thorn, Harrison and Oggy are not thick...

45 minutes isn't enough to judge a keeper on, simple as that.

Early signs are decent, but we'll need to see a bit more before we hail him as the next Westwood.

Dont get me wrong, i was worried after I seen him pre season however on Saturday, those 45 mins suggested he was a better keeper than his pre season showings suggested. Im not saying he should be our number1, or our season is saved because of the 45 mins he played, but i do feel more assured noing he does show promise!! Id still go for Murphy as no1, even just on experience. Our team is inexperienced enough at the min, never mind having a youngster in goal (and yes I no he played last season so isnt exactly inexperienced, but that was keeping in a different level)

Murphy would still be my number 1 choice but i am very happy for Dunn to come in from time to time as cover.

I don't get that feeling of "oh no" like i did when Dimi was our back up keeper.

We played 2 keepers and they both kept a clean sheet. So Dunn deserves the shirt for next game if Murphy is out, Simple as that.

And the Chelsea keeper talk is a load of rubbish. Where do these things come from?

Murphy's not exactly one for catching them ,i can think of 2-3 goals we've concded this season where he's palmed it straight back into the dangerzone ,not knocking him ,just being objective .

Before you all get too excited about Dunn he was woeful pre-season at Leamington and some Northampton fans were glad to see the back of him. On the plus side he is young, improving and Oggy says he's deserved his chance after training well, listening and learning. I'm sure he'll make mistakes as he's miles from the finished article so don't heap pressure on him by expecting too much too soon, nor build him up so much, only to then slag him off when he makes an error.

on the plus side, we arent missing westwood . he made lots of mistakes last year - aswell as great saves, but so far, we would be no better off with him than without

Not knocking Murphy here myself either, but I do know what your saying about palming it out, maybe I'm being too hard on him but it did seem an error on his part for them.

Still i'm happy that we have him and am sure we wouldn't have got any better than him anyway.

Murphy will be ok and Ireland and Dunn show promise. We've generally been pretty lucky with our keepers over the years and scoring goals has always been much more of a problem.

Way-to completely take my posts on Deegan out of context! I was pretty clear in saying that Deegan was great against a poor side, but that when talking about technical ability it doesn't matter who you are playing against-and it was his quality relative to the other City players that had me eulogising. He certainly isn't "shit" as you put it.

I'm generally as critical as I am positive I think you'll find, and I think Gael and Cyrus have been massively over-hyped, and need some protection from over-exposure, but there was no arguing with Cyrus's performance on Saturday or the passion shown by Gael.
