Didn't like how the Wolf stood with his foot on the ball and looking pretty slow and casual. Bit too ponderous for me!

Some people seriously sleep on JDs importance and contribution to how we build attacks. EMC, Grimes and Torp play off him constantly

I'd been genuinely quite happy if Ellis Simms keeps Haji out the team for the rest of the season.

Not just a more likeable guy, but when he is playing like this I think we're just a much much better team.

Haji had no pressure of someone really challenging him for his starting lineup spot, good on Simms for finally pulling it together.

Unfortunately he’s a confidence player and when it’s down it’s baddd. Hopefully has a good season this year with us and if we go up someone will want to buy him and we can cash in and move forward but this season hopefully really put him in the shop window, happy he’s finding some form but ideally not someone I’d like to have to rely on in the Prem

Rushworth 7 almost a fabulous assist
Mve - 7 still not on his game but his pace is wonderful
Jay - 8 fabulous going forward and keeping possession second half
Thomas - 8 wonderful header off the line big and strong almost a wonderful torp like strike for 4-1
Kitching - 8 marauds forward brilliantly
Grimes - 9.5 pretty much without fault (6 from one of our fans waaaaat!)
Torp - 8 excellent delivery from a set pieces
Rudoni - 7.5 does hold on to the ball too much but so comfortable and rarely misplaces a pass
Eccles - 8 lovely goal
Emc - 8.5 excellent second half was trying to play much better final passes
Simms - 9 lovely header and overall display

Subs

all did ok I think woolfy needs to be trusted a bit more but scares everyone

I thought EMC was very good today, better than some of the scores given. They were terrified of him. The right back who got booked early they switched with the LB to try and cope. Second half they constantly doubled up on him. Terrific performance.

I thought he was very good today , he seems to get criticism for not being the same as Tats .
For me Tats is an old fashioned style winger who loves turning defenders inside out whereas EMC is a modern "wide forward " who drives at players and looks to get in dangerous positions to score or create

Teams always double up on him which frees up Saka

Anyone mention the ball launched from Rushworth ahead of the ‘MVE penalty.’ What a signing this season.

Also good to have blokes on the team who are very capable of slotting it in from the edge of the area - notably Torp and Eccles. You could almost say Frank Lampard style.

Add a top class 10 in the window to help cover Rudi and if available elite JDS/Grimes cover and I can’t see us not winning this division.

We look a better team in my view with 1 upfront and a 10 vs. the Wright/BTA experiment. One thing that has been very impressive this week is the change of formation during games - will always love Robins but didn’t see that too often.

Thomas was out best player. Actually distributed well, stopped a goal at 1 down, looked a threat moving forward. Was excellent

EMC is far more important to how we play than Tats imo. Rudoni was able to come in and do a solid job out wide whereas there isn't anyone in the team with the same directness as EMC.

A great example here is the Sheff U game at home where we were pretty toothless until we had that directness out wide.

They are both valuable and bring different qualities, so it is a bit silly to compare them. EMC might be more direct, but Sakamoto is a better crosser, links play better and provides more defensive cover. They are not like for like.

Yes, but is there anything Sakamoto can do that Rudoni couldn’t? If Eccles keeps up his form, it’s entirely possible that we’ll see Rudoni at RW more often.

With EMC, the closest thing we have to him is MVE and we at least have KKH if MVE gets injured.

Feel for Woolf a bit it’s like he’s trying to hard to impress. We can’t judge him til hes had a run of starts in a row but without injury or suspension I can’t see that happening anytime soon.

Unless they are short-term signings, I don’t think we should be bringing in players worse than our current starting XI in January.

agree SBT. my argument is that the back up players for these positions should be at very high levels to slot in - right now if we lose JDS, Grimes and Rudoni as a proper 10 - we have a few problems.

I would rather roll with the multiple backup options we already have at CM and LB than spend money on players who would be backups this season and obsolete next season. There simply isn’t an urgent need for reinforcements there.

Simms should have done better from the one fired into him 2nd half which he got a slight connection with on the turn

Having a roaming winger is pretty normal. Even on Rudoni’s heat map, he gravitates more to the right hand side than the left when he plays AM.

Absolute best team will have Rudoni at AM but Lampard has some job finding his absolute best team.
