We have to get over this 'he looks knackered' talk. They are professinal footballers, extremely fit. A day or two off and they are good to go full on.
What's changed is the sickness that went through the camp, there's no doubt about that.
Let's hope the likes of Torp, Rudoni, Saka, Grimes, Milan, Thomas are all over it when we line up against Charlton. They should be. Then normal service can resume. I just think Sargent at Norwich, sitting in the bottom three, and him wanting a good season after recent injury so he can make the USA squad for the World Cup would be a great addition. He is a more number 10 and he and Wright could well be the front two for the USA. If we don't then someone else like Ipswich will. i know, he will be somewhere approaching 7/8/9m but we must put our money where our mouth is at this crucial opportunity sitting top of the league at the half way point.

In modern football, all top teams rotate players if they have the squad. That was why Ipswich looked way fitter than us. We do not have the squad to do it. It is because any small edge changes matches. Players are really not good to go at the full pelt that is required with so many matches in such a short period of time. Physical and mental exhaustion comes into play.
We cannot afford Sargent, his fee or his wages.

That's your opinion, mine differs as I already explained. We don't have a depleted squad as you seem to describe or we would not be top of the league. We lost several top players the likes of Rudoni and others, but had some of our best run of games....because we have a decent squad. Even Wolfenden has had to wait his chance and eccles and Simms playing minor parts within the squad. Brau only just got a start as did Latti. So no the squad is fairly decent. Ipswich were very good on the night, and there is no doubt a huge part of our squad have been ill, making it hard to field 11 players who were fit enough. that was clear.
We now need to add fresh impetus to our squad as most teams in our position would try to do.
As for Sargent. I don't know his wages, and I don't know what he would cost. But if we are to have desires on the premier league we have to find a way to bring in players who are perhaps above those we would normally be looking at. If that requires some clever accountanting for the bigger prize then I'm sure we could do it. No one is saying break the bank, but we are in a far better place financially than we have ever been for 20 some years, thanks to King. We have collateral, a very good backer and are currently on an upward terjectory with the sucess of this season already.

We looked so leggy against Ipswich i'd make a good few changes with Birmingham only a few days after as well.
Rushworth
KKH Bobby Kitch Bidders
Grimes Allen Eccles
Rudoni Simms EMC

Must win for my sanity.

After the first Ipswich defeat we put a decent run of results together. After we beat Swansea this place went very quiet. Awww how sweet. People on here are actually spending time with their families at Christmas. Fast forward to after our next defeat. Can't keep up with the posts and I don't have a family to entertain. The negativity is back. You would think we were in 3rd, a massive 10 points behind 1st and hoping to hold onto 6th.

The scoring for fun was unusual and wouldn’t last. It doesn't mean we're now poor. In the previous 4 games we only scored 4 goals yes I agree. But if using it as a tool how about mentioning only 2 goals against 2W 2D.

I know Ipswich look dangerous but there's only 22 games to go. Ipswich need to average 0.45 points a game more than us for the rest of the season. If we go on another run that would get bigger. Then who else could hit consistency with Ipswich and go past us?

Southampton, different kinds of 'well' in each half. Preston, we were good most of them game. We were good against Swansea and controlled the game. You might need to explain what 'played well' means here.

Teams aren’t approaching games against us the same way they did earlier in the season meaning they’re not as wildly open on the transition and we’re not able to just blow them away because they respect us.

We’ve played well all season, it’s just been in different formats.

Quite a test coming up for Lampard. Does he persist with Wright and Rudoni because he perceives them as 'quality'?
Does he rest MVE?
Does he stop MVE getting forward as much to shore up the defence?

Tough one isn’t it. Wrights not scored in 11 but has come close in a few of them. On their day, both are match winners, just out of form or the balance/service is off kilter.

id consider starting KKH at RB to rest Milan, Simms for Wright (Simms didn’t deserve being dropped tbf) and start with Eccles. Can always bring Rudi on. Maybe he needs out of the firing line.

I think this next game is a must win as Ipswich have Oxford at home who they should best comfortably so the gap will narrow again if we lose.

However the league is bat shit crazy so who knows

I Whatsapp'ed this to a mate after Swansea.

"We were quite poor, as we have been for a few games now except for occasional bursts. Lacking vim in the attacking third, with the exception of Mason Clarke who is an absolute beast. If you are playing badly it eventually catches up with you. It might well do against Ipswich on Monday evening" Well it did, and Frank has to sort it

We are too predictable, too direct. They know Rushworth is going to punt diagonally. The problem might be the strikers, but we don't actually know for certain because midfield and wings, EMC excepted, are providing so little. It was not as if either Simms or Wright have squandered bucket loads of chances, they have barely had any.

Grimes does the holding job but does little in penetration, Rudoni flits from side to side leaving Torp, who was outnumbered and overwhelmed by the Ipswich midfield. Saka seems to have forgotten how to cross and being a bit under the weather should not affect that

We need to win the ball first and foremost so I would pack the midfield by adding Eccles at the expense of Saka and leave Rudoni in a roving role, not just make him right wing.

Charlton in desperate need to address their form and it will be a game where they will want to rough us up. We need some fighters in the team tomorrow. Suspect Thomas, Bidwell, Eccles will most likely be in the team and Simms will replace Wright.

The thing BTA did that enabled us to be more free flowing and score more was stay in the middle and only go out wide when necessary, his energy supports the striker, he almost plays as a second striker rather than winger which occupies a space in the middle rather than out wide giving Torp more space and time to act and also Haji/Simms, its almost like Rudoni is hindering us whilst he’s not fully fit, because we know that he can work in this system and play very well I think we need to get him to play more centrally supporting the striker and making those runs into the box again what good is it having more players on the wing to cross the ball than men in the box to answer the cross

Brau looked like he'd won a competition. Not sure why calls for him to start? way out of his depth.

Are we all having a full blown meltdown if we lose tomorrow?

Because he's much quicker than Bidwell and better on the ball.
