Need 3 points. Beat these get a point at Brum and we're straight back on 2PPG.

Drop Rudoni, offers nothing to this team at the moment and often slows us down, always looking for the easy option, often comes back when we have promising attacks. Eccles needs to start in his place. I would keep Wright in as he can be dangerous against a slower defence, I would be half tempted to drop Torp too, and go with Allen in midfield to give him a rest, was a pedestrian yesterday and looked like a rest would do him good. It might be a better game to have a look at Brau and see what he can do but I would start Bidwell.

Could do with grinding out 3 points here to keep the points ticking over. If we fail to win here, Birmingham will be a very tough match and don't want a stumble to turn into a poor run

Rushworth
MVE Thomas Kitching KKH
Eccles Grimes Torp
Rudoni
Simms Wright

Bit harsh on EMC, but him and Sakamoto as impact subs are good options and they both have been flogged recently.

If Bobby Thomas isn’t available I’d just project a Bobby Thomas hologram into the right CB area and play with 10 men.

As long as Thomas is fit I would go along with this team. Wright and Simms both need goals.
Balls into the box as often as possible , Id give Torp the shout to shoot on site too

I know Charlton are in the bottom places but I still think we need 11 players David

Rushworth
MvE Thomas/Wolf Kitching KKH
Torp Grimes
Saka Eccles EMC
Wright

KKH has earned a start more than the LBs TBH. Rudi needs taking out the firing line for a bit. Eccles has done well when he’s come on recently.

Tyrique George on for the last ten as he won’t have trained

I am still pissed off from last night. Wright, Rudoni, Torp, and MvE wouldn't deserve to start after such a wimpy performance, but I know it doesn't work like that.

He will go with Bidwell I expect, and I wouldn't be surprised to see Simms come back in.

I agree about bringing Eccles in, for either Torp or Rudoni, but would temper that slightly by saying he was poor when he came on last night.

However, Charlton are no Ipswich.

No free roll for Rudoni, play him Number 10......but i don't think he will do it.
Regardless, get their heads back in the right space and 3 points is ours.

We're going as it's a new ground for my lad. Looking forward to the away trip as I always do. We should win this. Be good to see Thomas back, even if he's on the bench, though Wolfenden has been fine the last few games.

An easier game for all of us.

Charlton v Coventry
Derby v Middlesbrough
Hull v Stoke
Ipswich v Oxford

This is the kind of game where we need to keep the pressure on. You would think it would be a win for all 4 sides but it most probably won't be.

These seem to be in free fall but I remember them being a handful at our place early doors, Nathan Jones teams are always horrible to play against, I think we need to go here and win the battle before winning the football match.

Stoke are on the turn, Derby are indifferent. Charlton are suffering with injuries just as we are but will probably do as everyone else does and raise their game 2-3x.

All opponents are near the bottom of the latest form table. But anything could happen to anyone.

LB is an issue with JD out. Brau showed he isn't ready. Bidwell might be a slightly better option in terms of positioning etc. but he's regressing and far from ideal. Could try KKH on the left and see how it goes? Though ideally he'd be in for mvE so he could have a rest after illness.

Midfield Torp looks knackered after illness and could do with a rest, so Eccles comes in. Rudoni should really be dropped but bringing in both Eccles and Allen is a step too far. The way Rudoni's playing, he's slowing our play down and drifting into wide areas and just not providing what we need from an AM. So maybe play Rudoni in the 8 and instruct him to stay more central and give Eccles the 10 role?

Up front Wright's lack of goals for months and the seeming lack of effort in the last game should see him dropped. Trouble is Simms was on fire, scoring goals and with fire in his belly and got dropped for no good reason and now it seems he's lost that confidence he thrives on because of it so chances are he won't fair much better. Very poor man management by FL in this respect.

I hope we don't approach the game as passively as we did against Ipswich, where we let them control the game early on, giving them confidence and we never got into the game. Press for the first 20 minutes and get the upperhand, even if we don't score. Teams are scared of us given our league position and it could make the rest of the game a bit easier if we have to drop off later on.

Simms and Wright up top. Surely they can be no worse if paired together.
Drop Rudoni and Sakamoto, play Grimes, Eccles and Torp in midfield.

Rushworth
Woolfy
Kitching
Thomas/Lats
MVE
Brau
Grimes
Eccles
Torp
Simms
Wright

EMC coming on as an impact sub

Mve still don’t look 100% fit after the flu , it takes over a week or so to recover from the flu and a few still seem to be struggling.

Rest MvE as he looked knackered, drop Haji and Rudi. Brau over Bidwell again as should have a lot more of the ball in this one.
2-0 win.

Why am I seeing about 3 new formations suggested here?

Rushworth
MVE/KKH - Thomas - Kitching - Brau/Bidwell
Grimes Torp
Sakamoto - Rudoni/Eccles - EMC
Wright/Simms

Honestly all the 50/50s are a coin flip for me. But Charlton are poor, stick to our usual system and play anywhere near we know we can and we'll get a result.

I'd bring in Bobby Thomas for Wolf, but otherwise that's the team. This is exactly the type of game and opposition where Simms has to start. I'd also keep Brau in the team. There's a player there, but he needs some games.

Yes finally someone agrees with me. Simms was on fire, full of confidence and FL drops him. Makes no sense! Then Bidwell has a great game against Swansea after a few wobbly appearances and then he’s dropped next game. Don’t get me wrong I love FL but he makes some mental man management decisions and has basically drained Simms back to square one. Wright has not scored since 4th October.

Nah, I think he's exaggerating it in all honesty. If you were that fucked you wouldn't be playing.

I think he's drastically out of form and I wouldn't be against KKH starting.
