funny you should say that. i’m finishing up in the gym before driving over for the game, and i’ve seen a girl in a MAGA hat. genuinely one of the first times i’ve seen one out in the wild.

We’re in the Black country. i’m sick of american politics invading everyday society

Well if one group of pilots is allowed to qualify when another group would of failed, is that acceptable.

Just to clarify. Not all black pilots are under qualified, this is down to the pass rate (allegidly) being lowered to allow less capable black pilots to pass their exams who would otherwise of failed.
This was supposedly done to allow a pre determined number of black people to qualify.

I dont know about you, but I'd just want the best candidates to pass, regardless of race. Colour, religion, sexuality etc etc.
Why should the bar be lowered for one demographic just to satisfy some arbitrary quota that someone, somewhere has plucked out of thin air?

Why would an airline entrust an underqualified pilot with one of its planes?

The reason Kirk railed against these programs was his belief that the reason these people were underrepresented wasn’t because of any structural or socioeconomic factor that could be mitigated in the hiring process, but because of a fundamental cognitive inferiority on the part of the applicants.

the number of 'he wasn't racist he just said...' followed by a load of textbook racism is astonishing. the people posting seem oblivious to what they are posting, are people really that unaware when they are being racist, has it just become so common in some circles they just don't see it.

we've seen similar here. time and time again we've seen Reform supporters take offence when anyone suggests they might be racist but then at their recent conference they welcome a convicted racist on stage like some sort of hero.

What about when he said black people were better off under the segregation and discrimination of the 1940s?

To caveat this from what I have seen he always backed up his statements with some statistical evidence to support it. It's not saying we should go back to segregation but extending an argument to find the cause of why they were better then than now.

The insinuation was that black people were better behaved under white subjugation.

I think you misunderstood,

Some pilots qualifications were gained at a far lower pass rate than others.
So they may have gained the qualification, when others of a similar standard or higher, would of failed.

That's what was being alleged.

no they weren't, if you have proof you may want to take that to the us news agencies as that is massive

all DEI is in reality is rightly or wrongly an attempt to say some people have talent but a shitter start in life so let us try and help them overcome these.

no one is letting pilots fly passenger planes you are less qualified.

Unmoderated social media delivered via endless stream algos is not a safe product for human consumption. Lots of money trying to make sure we don’t do to it what we did to cigarettes, even more money than there was in cigarettes and how long did that take?

Crime dropped massively during lockdown. I assume he’s for locking us all down. Or at least working out why we were better people late 2019-21

Seeing that there are many awful posts celebrating the man's death on my twitter feed, not from people I'm following but reposted by others to show how depraved some are towards his family. Loads also saying stuff like Elon or Shapiro next.

I'm also seeing indications that he was losing his belief in Israel's justification, well about time.

I doubt we'll ever know anything accurate about the killers motives.

I always have read through comments on links to check for push back (as I’m too lazy too watch whole video myself) and a person said to watch the whole debate from 1 hr 19. So I did and also watched the bit after too.

I thought the girl who debated was very good, she was articulate and knowledgeable. The point about the war of drugs was very relevant and something Kirk didn’t really address. He was respectful throughout though and also raised some fair challenges

I’d seen a couple of clips of Kirk before he was killed but didn’t know his name. Reading/seeing some of his views since I find a fair few outdated (he obviously has strong religious beliefs) and some unsavoury but some of the clipped comments seem to be taken out of the wider context/debate which is dangerous. A lot of people with strong, potentially unsavoury views wouldnt ever even consider publicly debating them like he did and probably even less likely to now, which is a shame.

Thanks for that, I will find the whole debate to get the full context which is hard to do from a clipped piece. To my original point at the start of the clip he does ask "what has changed" which is the thing that I was pointing out about trying to find the route cause of demographic issues although I understand why folk would interpret it as racist. Anywho need to get my trainers on and hope we smash the canaries for a change.

I believe you. It’s weird though. I live in a populated City - Cincinnati Ohio. I also travel quite frequently for my job. At least half the year. I’m always in major cities and work downtown. I haven’t seen ICE yet. Not in Denver, not in DC, not even in Chicago. Only on the news. I know they are out they, but they aren’t bothering my friends and neighbors (who are a very mixed lot of racial backgrounds).

again, I’m sure it’s a problem. I just only see it on the news and not up close and personal.

You'd find it very interesting to watch the one that Mehdi Hasan did on the same channel last month. Did a phenomenal job even as people were expressing racist views right to his face.

Yeah, saw some of it, although hadn’t connected the two being the same show until you just mentioned it (I’m a bit slow sometimes !) He was very good.

Seams bizarre on the part of the airlines, but tbf we've seen the same in our police force, not based on race (as far as im aware) but I know from talking to a retired copper that the standards at recruitment have dropped dramatically.

As I said, im only repeating what's been posted on line, you have to remember that CK had all the relevant info and was prepared to debate it. Im only putting his side over (as far as I understand it) im not arguing his point, as i havnt done the deep dive that he has, but im sure his Web site/ youtube chanel will have the debate somewhere.

I agree 100% but the thing is, he had the evidence (supposedly) and was willing to tell anyone who would listen in peaceful debates.

Thousands turned out to listen/debate him, and look what happened!

If he was wrong, or out of order, then show it for what it is, in peacefull dialogue.

You only murder someone when your frightened of what they have to say.
If they are wrong the world would hear it and know it.

CK had the proof!

Remember it isnt my argument, it was his.
And he was talking openly about it to anyone willing to listen.

One line out of an entire debate has been taken out of context and used to fire up the usual suspects, has anyone who has posted the quote actually listened to the full debate???

Anyway im in the ground now so getting a pint. PUSB.
