I see your point here having to play deep to help with Doyle’s legs same as Bayliss but who replaces Doyle ?Think he's quick over a yard but nothing special over 15. Should be playing on the shoulder of the last man not 10 yards deeper than the man winning flick ons. If we have a more dynamic midfield then he doesn't need to be the extra body in there, which he is at the moment. For me another player, along with Bayliss, that we're not getting 100% out of yet to compensate for a 37 year old in centre midfield.

My Pompey scouts reported that he isnt particularly quick over longer distances. I was always led to believe that strikers need only really be quick over the first 5 yards anyway. He’ll come good. I have every confidence.He’s not got a great top speed but he’s nippy. He beat a defender very neatly yesterday but didn't have the pace to get away from him.
This is not a criticism, just a plea for people to lower their expectations for a while.
