Don’t even need to go back that far, Leeds last season will do. Which is hardly a shock, it was a stacked parachute team.Nowhere near the best side the league has ever seen tbh.
Compare us (or even yourselves for that matter) to the likes of Fulham when they went up with Mitro and Co...Not even close.

The post you started defending was suggesting we spend £50m on paying off the mortgage early. I suggested our long term financial future would be better served spending that £50m not on avoiding a relatively small and budgeted for interest payment but instead on increasing our chances of staying up and earning enough to cover our wage bill. You claimed I “didn’t get it”.
Parachute payments exist so that clubs that are relegated are not “in hoc”. And we ran up £70m of debt outside the PL by fucking about with shit owners and madcap plans to get the stadium.
I wasn't defending the idea of paying off the ground, I was defending the general premise of careful spending.
For me it's a simple equation, if we spend x amount and go down we're in the shit.
If we spend x amount and go down we will be able to have a good crack at coming back up, I'm going with plan b.
All I’m saying is we should put whatever funds our owner deems we have towards staying up as that is how we are financially secure long term. There is no financial security in the Championship no matter how little you spend. The economics of football are fucked at this level. You either have a very low wage bill in L1 or very high earnings in the PL if you want to be sustainable. Dropping back down to a league where you can’t cover your wage bill even with a full 30k stadium is not financially sensible.
Should filter down to be fair. But like someone has mentioned, would be excuse for greedy premier clubs to keep more for themselves.I am very much against us the parachute payments but if they are stopped where will the money go?
King will almost certainly sell should go up. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s already met with interested parties.
Try again. Middlesbrough needing points after not winning against a side that's no danger to us means they would have to beat Ipswich. Millwall play Hull this week. They both already have to win 3 games more than us. If either Hull or Millwall go past us we would most probably be looking at 4th or lower unless Middlesbrough or Ipswich suffered a collapse.I can kinda see the reasoning behind it, An inform Boro helps keep the rest at bay.

Our rivals for the top 2 are Middlesbrough and Ipswich. We should all want them to lose to take even more pressure off us.
Well I agree, but there is also the death by a thousand cuts of massive overspending, as Leicester are about to find out.
At least they have the memory of 2 major trophies to ease the pain, most don't.
Leicester have terrible owners who broke the rules and are getting punished for it. Sheff We’d have terrible owners. We had terrible owners. Terrible owners kill football clubs, transfer fees don’t.
I see Yorkshire post and sports boom are linking Ellis Simms with a move to Sheffield Utd ..probably utter bullshit but they do like ours and Leeds ex players
Part exchange for Brooks.I'll be amazed if he's here next season. Think they fit the profile of the sort of club he'd go to.
100m extra to spend in the 1st season. This includes wages. Come back down and you have another 80m over the next 2 years. Done the right way if we did go straight back down there would be enough to keep paying the inflated wages for another 2 seasons. We should have a strong enough squad to have a very good chance of going back up and starting again with another extra 100m for the 1st season. All I’m saying is we should put whatever funds our owner deems we have towards staying up as that is how we are financially secure long term. Terrible owners can starve a club of money. Terrible owners also can throw money around like confetti on signing players putting the future of the club in serious doubt.Leicester have terrible owners who broke the rules and are getting punished for it. Yep and get £5m for the pleasureI'll be amazed if he's here next season. Think they fit the profile of the sort of club he'd go to.
Have they got terrible owners? It was all good when they won the Prem and then spent a few years in the top half of it, later winning the FA cup too.Leicester have terrible owners who broke the rules and are getting punished for it. They are our B team, so I wouldn’t be surprised.I see Yorkshire post and sports boom are linking Ellis Simms with a move to Sheffield Utd ..probably utter bullshit but they do like ours and Leeds ex players
The father was a decent owner and proved you can polish a turdHave they got terrible owners? It was all good when they won the Prem and then spent a few years in the top half of it, later winning the FA cup too.
Their owners were never realistically going to be able to sell trying to compete for mid table post 2016.
We're always wank in our games against you, we're about as likely to get anything from those games as you are at Deepdale (and same for us against Bristol City for that matter, which is why I've already written off the return fixture against them too) it's the other 21 sides' games we have to try and get as much points from as poss. They were wank, took 6 easy points off them

Seriously, if a season should emerge way in the future when you're rock bottom and we're 20 points clear at the top, we'd still find a way to lose against you. It's the nature of the beast.

Don't think that's true at all. We're always wank in our games against you
You won 3 of the first 4 games we played since we came back up and drew in the regular season of 22/23.We're always wank in our games against you, we're about as likely to get anything from those games as you are at Deepdale (and same for us against Bristol City for that matter, which is why I've already written off the return fixture against them too) it's the other 21 sides' games we have to try and get as much points from as poss.

I think so. If he doesn't then that's not a business decision, he must actually be enjoying himself.
Reality and history tell a completely different story. We're always wank in our games against you,
Its their cope for us beating them and outplaying them in the main games recently.Reality and history tell a completely different story.
didn't we score 7 or 8 over the season against them? They were wank, took 6 easy points off them
They’ll end up in the play-offs and lose out, again. Its their cope for us beating them and outplaying them in the main games recently.
It prevents them accepting we are better than them, and they just put it down to superstition.
