Think Soton paid around that for him in 2021. Stupid figure for him now, I hope they pay it!

There's already a Hollywood movie lined up I hear.

Keanu Reeves is going to play Keifer Moore,

Kevin James is Matty James

Jesse Plemmons as James McClean

And Heavily Bandaged Man as Ben Sheaf

Phil Parkinson will be played by Morgan Freeman

And it will be directed by Wes Anderson

I must admit some of the Leicester fans are funny - one sends an alert Martin having heard the news has stopped sucking Lucy Pinders tits all day and sending his CV in

I'd rather suck Russell Martins tits all day than send my CV to Leicester

Oh arse.

Tbf hoping he may get the vote of confidence for another five games or so was always a bit of a stretch.

This is going to sound weird but whoever they get I hope does well until they finish playing both Boro and Ipswich this season and then they can fuck up!

Steve Gibson over the years has ploughed in £250 million of his own money.

For a period of over 5 years in the championship they had spent more on wages than their actual total income. They get round FFP rules by the way Gibson puts in a mix of equity and loans.

They are without Gibson a chronically insolvent football club and have been for years.

For what it’s worth I don’t care as I don’t believe in the financial rules which pretends clubs are solvent when they are not.

What I don’t see is why Gibson is any different to any other billionaire who gets round rules to suit him but seems to escape critiscm

Because he stays within FFP and a sustainable business model.

Aside from when we had parachute payments way back when, we tend to operate in phases when averaged out. Loans need to be paid back over time and seen to be done so, including from any other company he owns.

This means we have a season or two of "going for it" followed by a few seasons of cost-cutting to keep us on an even keel. For these seasons especially we're heavily reliant on talent spotting bargain buys and either getting a manager in who can operate on a shoestring (Mowbray, Warnock) or to save even more money during the lean periods, one new to the game who will cost less (Woodgate, Southgate when he was appointed even)

I'd agree though that without Gibson we'd be screwed and I just don't fancy the idea of getting some rich sugar daddy who has no affinity with the club in, who can just drop the club whenever he decides he's bored of it.
