Can't see much past Ipswich 1st.

Leicester could well be in big trouble. Stuck with players on massive wages they can't shift and a looming points deduction.

Southampton i can see going either way. They've lost their best defender on a free and other players are looking to leave. Can Will Still make it as a Championship manager?

Sheffield United look to be relying on loans again. If Hamer leaves they could struggle to even make the top 6. Add to this a new manager.

Birmingham have spent big but have they spent wisely? Also a big jump for some of their players.

I haven't seen much business by anyone else to make me think they will vastly improve from last season although there's normally a side or two that surpasses expectations.

I keep expecting Middlesbrough to do better than they end up doing. Interesting to see how Edwards and Viveash get on.

Assuming he plays against us, he’ll be doing so almost 20 years to the day since he scored that screamer for Watford.

For all the talk, Wrexham are going to need to do a lot more. Not sure I even see them staying up if they went with what they have right now.

Damn I remember that too well. We're old as fuck. 3-1 Willo Flood got a goal, right?

I'd add Norwich with them. Expect them both to be close to the playoffs but just failing.

Stoke are the strangest side. For years now they have spent a fortune and never get involved near the top. But their constant changing of managers doesn't help.

They’re stuck with a league 1-2 manager from a decade ago (who Pressley famously called a dinosaur even then). He’s presided over the club’s successive promotions from non league to the Chanpionship so can’t be sacked but they will remove him at the first opportunity I suspect and try and sign a shed load of different players in January.

Still one of the best goals I’ve seen at the ground

They won't need to be anything special to survive their first season. Can see it being a scrap between Oxford, Preston, Charlton and Sheffield Wednesday for the bottom 3 places. Sheffield Wednesday will do well not to finish bottom.

It's a hedge fund, they want the land and Blues are a vehicle to get it. I suspect a lot of the plans are pie in the sky. The stadium obviously relies on Blues being a Prem team and let's face it, even then it's a joke.

They could just buy the land directly TBF. I think they are hoping to quickly get Blues a promotion and sell a significant share of it on

I don't think it will either. Hull will also probably be down there this season.

I expect the playoff point threshold to be a fair bit higher, the safety threshold a fair bit lower. Quite a few vulnerable clubs this season.

I also see Hull being towards the bottom but will be safe because of how poor the other sides are.

I just can't make my mind up on this. I see Ipswich getting close to the 100 points but without knowing which players are going to be in/out of the others I presently don't see anyone giving them a serious challenge.

This is why I see us as 2nd to 4th as things stand. Get a good start and it could be us who are their nearest challengers. But the transfer window doesn't close until September 1st.

Binks, Latibeaudiere and the clowns in goal must have cost us close to that themselves.

Not having pur usual poor start would help.

But if you read back my thoughts are Ipswich could be well clear. This looks like it could easily be our best chance so far of getting promotion. There's no team like Leeds to add to two strong sides that have come down. Leicester are a car crash waiting to happen. Southampton were poor last season and have lost their best defender on a free. Other players are looking to leave.

Add to this Sheffield United have not replaced their loan players yet and would struggle if Hamer left. You can also add to this a new manager that will have to find his feet in the Championship.

So which teams do you think will get close to 100 points this season and why?

The Leicester points deduction seems to be taking forever can see it being two points and the league saying sorry.

Don't know if it's been mentioned yet but Wrexham have signed Windass.

Apparently wants to become an actor after football (not just for the money they've offered him).

Don't have a clue there's a fair few sources claiming it. Just posted what I saw online, know there can be a lot of rubbish online though.

Granted Southampton were awful last season but they have a well balanced Championship-level squad with some solid talent dispersed throughout. Even with inevitable exits I'd be surprised if they weren't in the mix this season. The only caveat is whether Still can adapt to the Championship.

Big moves for Wrexham, Brum, Norwich and Ipswich. When do we intend to start improving our first 11?

Last night highlighted again where we are short:

- GK (however, looks to sorted)
- Left back still concern, liked Brau, but looks raw and will take time
- Centre half - Binks too soft, would love Kitching upgrade
- Midfield - we are still too ponderous and lack that COH type (something different), just cant make mind up on torp.
- Wide - More competition, ether someone who can play across front or right winger.
- Strikers - well im loosing will to live on them currently, Bassette just gets worse every time I see him, BTA works hard, no product and Ellis.....well Ive given him benefit of doubt, a lot, but thats really wearing thin.

I have given up on left back and I’m not too worried about the midfield. At a bare minimum we need a goalkeeper, centre half and a forward who can play off the right or up front.

I am incredulous at the belief we are ‘going for it’. We have not gone anywhere at all. Things need to ramp up asap

GK is hopefully sorted, we won't be signing another LB, a CB will only come in if one leaves, CM - possibly Pereria, we'll likely look at bringing in a RW who can also play up front.
