As good as Hamer is creativity and going forward, the superb defensive work he did for us breaking up play, has seemingly disappeared from the way Sheffield United want him to play!

Media boards of our favourite teams - seems many had a bad day blaming players for abject performances ! Cue our own boards where there was some similar comments even though we won - the three points at the end of the day is all that matters - consider some of the players weren’t at their best through getting or recovering from illness ( Rudi Tats and Milan ) - we have Asante to come back who was in a run of form and another 2 games without our often criticised left back but possibly one of the most improved players and of course Bobby - all of these will need time to get back on form - so every point at this stage is a bonus - and that’s without any of the other teams showing a flu issue ! PUSB
It's great we're getting results while not playing particularly well. I think after Jan we'll really kick on with a few new additions and our players getting back to full fitness.
3 defenders actually in a back line that was already fairly threadbare. Jones went off injured first who is a big miss...Then we brought the Fridge on to replace him, who himself needed needed replacing due to injury by half time.
Lastly Matt Target went off injured too, it's a ridiculous amount of injuries tbh.
The Hackney challenge btw, even almost all our fans think he was incredibly lucky not to get a red. Not for the supposed "hands round throat" (that was little more than than a push away) but for the initial challenge that looked like nothing remotely near an attempt to win the ball. Frustration rather than malice was the cause of it, but normally he'd be looking at going off.
As a team we got away with that one, though we're still well in deficit to the number of decisions that have gone against us this season, Hackney can consider himself a very fortunate young man.

Hellberg understandably keeps his cards close to his chest on that one, so a lot of it is speculation.
We have 4 out and out CBs of high standard at the club.
Lenihan - Already crocked for most if not all of the season after playing a couple of games in pre-season. A good CB when fit, he's been injured for over 2 seasons now, aside from the odd return.
Jones - Went off with an ankle injury yesterday , full details unknown, but knowing our form with them unlikely to return until partway through January.
Edmundson - Reoccurance of a hip problem yesterday that kept him sidelined for a couple of months last time.
The only "fit" one of our official CBs is Dael Fry. Just returned from a few months out with a persisitent recurring calf injury, ideally wouldn't have played a whole half yesterday, but had no choice.
In addition, as we prioritised multi-role players after our last 2 years injury hell, Luke Ayling can and often will deputise as a CB, though it leaves us with no real cover for Britain at RB if he gets injured.
Target at LB can deputise in the centre too. Injured yesterday though which rules him out as well. Not sure how long for. Essentially we're down to just the one good quality LB in a recently returned from a long injury layoff Bangura before we have to make an at best average replacement.
At a pinch a recently recovered from injury Browne is another multi-roled player that can drop back into a CB position from being a DM. The only problem there is that Aiden Morris, our other quality DM, has been broken for a few months now too, so we can't really pull Browne from that role.
If it wasn't for learning from the past 2 seasons that anything that can go wrong WILL go wrong regarding injuries and recruiting quite a few multi-roled players accordingly, we'd have been completely screwed this year, the same as the last couple of seasons. Since this whole injury nightmare started a few games before the end of the 22/23 season when we faced you in the playoffs tbh, which is barmy.

Every team has that critical mass of absences before it becomes too much, for us and yourselves that number seems pretty high. If they could all go missing at some point in mid February however, much appreciated.
